| They aren't occultists, they don't practice any real religion. Maynard really is into spiritual stuff though, but that's individual spirituality, not the fads that pop up every couple of months. They're interested in the occult and stuff, but don't practice it. | |

| Science is now finding that all matter and forces, (possibly time and space) , are all manifestations of Energy, one single simple thing; Energy. So i guess the cult guys were right all along, we are all one, everything is energy, and we are made of light! (string theory & E=mc2) | |

| okay I know think whiteout has some kind of insane fetish with astral projection. He/she is always talking about it. The Merkaba is a meditation that is supposed to work as a vehicle of ascension on different levels. It is believed that there are multiple dimensions and while so many strive to grow and find that place in heaven, it is only one such dimension (this is called a linear ascension. Simply from Earth to heaven). The Merkaba is designed to allow you to grow in multiple dimensions. Okay I know all of that sounded just as crazy as whiteout's comments! I just believe basically that this song talks about how we are not individual people, but all apart of each other. That we will not simply disappear after we die, but move on. While our bodies now holds us down, we are just light. Energy. And divine energy. Love is simply the connection that guides us together. Funny thing about love. I can have someone totally degrade me and insult me to know end. And it hurts. But if I love them, I will still have my feelings for them. I may back away, but I will still forgive them. Love is eternal. There is no reason behind it. No rationality. And that is what makes it so unstoppable. If you can find a reason why you're with someone, then that reason can always unravel and be taken away. But if you have no reason, there is nothing to break that bond down. | |

| Ok this song has nothing to do with astral projection, energy grids, ritual magic, chakras or anything. I suggest all of you get the book Transfigurations by Alex Grey. This song is about being HIGH. Merkaba means "the vehicle of assention" or in other words the chemical you use to elevate your conscience. Probobly refering to acid in this case. | |

| this also has to do with astral Projection again, like the end of the parabola video. the eyes flowing through his body is the energy you feel when you are completely relaxed and let your mind pull the energy to your head, those things that open up in the body, are called chakras, when you feel them open, they release even more energy. you third eye is a chakra, once it reaches there, you can expand from your body. it is an OBE technique. merkaba is telling more about it, coming right out ad telling that we are immortal, when we die, our souls live in the astral dimension, and can reincarnate if desired, but never usually is desired, as the astral is a beautiful place. sense your pineal glad, open your chakras, shed your beliefs. | |

| Indeed, it is a very spiritual song, and it gives me some sorta energy everytime I heard it. I used to make it a custom to listen to it everyday when I got back from school. This band knows how to do it all really; they are currently (in my opinion) the best band out there at the moment overall. Only Nine Inch Nails come close, realisticaly. Not many bands are keeping it together nowadays after Rage broke up. This song was an opener to Sober I believe, in the early days. MJK would just sit on stage and "meditate" to it while the band jammed it up. The lyrics, as little as there may be, are every good and well put into the song. TRIVIA: When you hear a woman say: "It's some kind of psychedelic experience" it is from another song that I can't remember at the moment. Maybe someone else will post it. Overall, this song really shows what Tool is capable of instrumentally. | |

| DeviouZ made a good point, but to expand, I suggest everyone who doesn't think that Tool is into the "occult" read the personal bios (specifically Maynard and Danny) on their official site, listed below. http://www.toolband.com/identity/bio/main.html I'm sorry about your loss, dontpanic42. If you still want to be a Tool fan, I'm sure you're welcome. This song is about experiencing the peace and clarity of enlightenment or transgression. Plain and simple. | |

I read that in an interview somewhere as well, but my bad about the last post that was meant for the song "Mantra" on Lateralus. So you got two for one.....anyways excuse my stupidity. | |

| the Merkaba is the 'ship' in which we originally descended to Earth, in our soul state - and that can be anything we choose, meditation, astral projection, whatever; it also symbolises The One; the Omni, the Everything and Everywhere.....LSD my foot....lol...yeah we can get the High or the Journey without drugs, sure we can, and MJK is trying hard to tell us that we can, here.....so, if ya get it, great, if ya dont, please try more often; the Journey is wonderful: that same Merkaba will take us up again, from Earth, to the Heavens. Enjoy! Be a frequent flyer! | |

| I don't get it... Tool fans usually seem like very intelligent people, full of creative thoughts and positive outlooks... But then there's a bunch that buy into this new-age/rennes-le-chateau/astral projection/energy grids/aliens/magic with a k/crowley/chakra/pineal gland/sacred geometry BULL SHIT (did I miss anything?) if a person wants to spend their time chasing after illusions built upon unrealistic claims, so be it. but they need to realize that they are degrading the integrity of the tool fan community. sorry to be so harsh, but wake up people. Don't bother conjuring some demon against me, I'll just kick him in the chakras and isolate him using my 3 magick pentagrams, because we all know then number 3 is holy. | |

| lol... its amazing what lengths what depths of denial some people will sink to so their interpretations don't affect their beliefs... WAKE UP IDIOTS! Tool are into the OCCULT, which is NOT anything to do with New Age because all that shit is is watered down occultism for the masses... Occultism isnt Satanic either, that's merely Christian bullshit getting in the way of the truth. It's the highest truth that yet exists, equivalent to the Yoga of the East... yet isn't accepted by the mainstream because they're too closeminded to accept it, for them it isn't 'scientific' as if anything like this could be based on scientific principles. Hmm. Let's look at a few things shall we? The Grudge 'Saturn comes back around' ASTROLOGY, 'leaden grudges into gold' ALCHEMY... Reflection? 'The Moon, my confidante' ASTROLOGY... Third Eye? CHAKRAS. I could go on but seriously if this isnt enough to prove to you guys that Tool are talking on a completely different wavelength to what you guys are tuned into then nothing will convince you... TOOL WANT YOU TO REALISE THESE THINGS AND OPEN YOUR MIND TO WHAT IS OUT THERE. After all, TOOL the name was originally conceived as TOOL for spiritual progress... This song ISNT about drug use btw, its possible to have psychadelic experiences WITHOUT drugs you know... TOOL ARE OCCULTISTS, that is why they are so good! | |

| "Mer=place of ascending" Possibly, but more specifically it translates to "rotating fields of light." Merkaba is referring to a deep form of meditation that facilitates deep spiritual growth. For those who didn't catch this in the Parabola video, now you know a little more about the superb ending. | |

| Those of you not really in touch with or informed about Maynard's spiritual side shouldn't comment about his Peotry... Learn about the Merkaba meditation and how it relates to sacred geometry. Expand your mind people, don't be afraid of new Ideas. How can you be a Tool fan and not respect thier messages? | |
