This is my first tab ever so hope you enjoy and hope its to you liking.
This is just the intro part. The rest of the song is the same as the
studio version. Its play with light distortion and some reverb on the
very start of it but just toy with it it's a great song to play.

| There is no human being on this earth who can rightfully claim to be God, because the thing that makes us human is our faults. Anyone who claims to be perfect is a liar. Maybe Maynard has been inspired by God, or the devil. I actually think human nature is that of the beast, because why would God put us here to destroy the earth and the animals, which is what the human race is doing. I can't stand most people in America because most of them are ignorant, violent, and sex-crazed lunatics. I may listen to the advise that others offer, after all I am only 19 which is not a long time at all, but essentially the only voice that I follow is my own. | |

| I was never able to really single out one Tool song that was my favorite until I heard this version of Pushit. Absolutely amazing. No other band can produce a 13 minute epic that builds and builds and not only holds your attention but completely draws you into the music. The final five minutes of the song are just one constant chill and goosebump session. I'm going to see Tool July 30 in Little Rock and I can only hope they do something along these same lines. They probably won't, but even if they produce the exact same show I saw last year it will be worth twice the ticket price. | |

| I interpret this song much differently, due to the experience I had involving it. I believe he loves her, but he is so afraid of being hurt and opening up. I pushed my boyfriend(now my husband) away because of the same reason. He is afraid to go inside her, meaning her heart, (not her crotch, NeverGreen!) He is choking on his emotions, he wants to run fromher, but it feels so good to be held by her. So he pushes her away, and she is pushong him away by being so loving and good to him, it scares him...I held my husband, when he was still my boyfriend, while he cried and got rid of a lotof old garbage that was tormenting his soul. It was very cleansing and it means the world to us, even though we are seperated now... | |

| This is probably Tool's most beautiful and intense songs ever. You get such a surge when the song hits: "Staring down the hole again. Hands are on my back again. Survival is my only friend. Terrified of what may come. Remember I will always love you, As I claw your fucking throat away. It will end no other way." The music and lyrics just fit together perfectly here and blow you away! | |

| It send shivers down my spine when Maynard sings almost acoustic right at the beginning of the song. Even though I love this song so much, I don't listen to it too often, that way I won't get too bored with it and everytime I listen to it, it's more and more special. | |

| This song gets me every time I hear it. The best song I feel they have ever sang. Just Maynards introduction to the song is the beginning of a differant state of reality the song puts you in. For some reasons, I interprit a lot of tools songs to relationships, not necessarly man and woman, maybe brother and sister and so on...... but this one by far. This song has got me thought a lot in my life. “Saw that gap again today. While you were begging me to stay. Take care not to make me enter. If I do we both may disappear.” This person saw the gap in relationship with his lover. He didn’t want to work out the problem right there, or them may end up breaking the relationship off.. “Managed to push myself away And you as well, my dear And you, as well Pushed you away my dear” Since he wasn’t willing to work it out at that time, he felt he pushed her away, not physically. I will choke until I swallow Choke this infant here before me What are you but my reflection? Who am I to judge or strike you down? He is now looking at the child they had created together. He knows he will ruin the child’s life if the two break it off, but he will not allow a child stand in the way, he looks at the child and sees his own image, who he is now, the child will be later. But who is he to judge it, let the child grow the way it wants to on its own. “But you're pushing me And I'm shoving you And your pushing me And I'm shoving you” Basically they are both pushing each other away, not really putting 100% into the relationship…. “Rest your trigger on my finger, Bang my head upon the fault line You better take care not to make me enter If I do we both may disappear” He cant take it anymore, he is about to explode he is loosing his mind about now. “You still love me” He knows this and he is having second thoughts. “And I'm slipping back into the gap again I feel alive when you touch me... I feel alive when you hold me.....down” He sees the gap again between them both, but he feels great when she touches him and holds him, he is telling her this, but she doesn’t seem to care… “I am somewhere I dont wanna be, yeah Put me somewhere I dont wanna be Push me somewhere I dont wanna be Seeing someplace I don't wanna see Never wanna see that place again...” He is going through it all in his head, I feel he is starting from day one and looking at everything and he is done.. He wants to get rid of it all.. and never again be put in that situation again.. “If, when I say I may fade like a sigh if I stay, You minimize my movement anyway, I must persuade you another way” He doesn’t feel very important where he is at, that when he is gone, it’s not going to be a big deal…. She holds him from things he truly wants to do and there is no other way to persuade her besides leaving her.. “There's no love in fear. Staring down the hole again. Hands are on my back again. Survival is my only friend. Terrified of what may come. Remember I will always love you, As I claw your fucking throat away. It will end no other way.” You cannot love and be afraid of the outcome….. He is seeing it all again.. He is going to loose it, he had to remind her he loves her but he is about to explode, not necessarily physically but he is going to chew some ass and degrade her beyond belief, there is no other way to end it, he has no choice.. … Sorry this is long, but this song has meant a lot to me, check out my profile and web site.. Its written there… | |

| I fell in love with the original version and satan help me when i heard this version. it is such a beautiful rendition of love gone bad. when i hear this song i think about three friends, a love triangle, and two of them ganging up on the other. That one of the original lovers and the friend are secretly carrying on a relationship. And when the friend realizes that they are coming after him, he has to choose. there IS no love in fear. and when your back is to the wall you will destroy all those who seek to hurt you. a triad of mistrust and confusion. i listened this song everyday for months. i could float away inside of this song for hours. | |

| This is by far my favorite Tool song. The last bit when he sings "Staring down the hole again. Hands are on my back again. Survival is my only friend. Terrified of what may come. Remember I will always love you, As I claw your fucking throat away. It will end no other way." is the most awesome part of the song. I take this section of the song and sing along with it, aiming the first bit at myself, and the second at a person who pretty much said the same thing to me. I could listen to this song for hours and never tire of it. | |

| People forget that a lot of Tool songs are about sex.. plain and simple.. I believe that this song is about premature ejacualtion; saying that he doesnt wanna have sex becuase he'll ejaculate too soon (put me sumwhere i dont wanna be/survival is my only friend/ you pushit on me) "theres no love in fear" could be saying how he is scared of sex becuase of the problem. Trading it all for a little piece of mind probably means that he'd want to give up the relationship just to know that he'll stop prematurely ejaculating.. "If i say i might fade like a sigh if i stay/you minimised my movement anyway, i must persuade you another way" is saying that if he stays inside her, even though shes minimising his movement, hell still cum quickly, so he has to do sumthing else to satisfy her and saying that she was "begging me to stay" as in she wanted him in her longer.. Im pretty sure about this one.. xxxxxxx*xxxxxx NeverGreen | |

| i think, that if you have been in a position in a relationship which he is singing about, then this is probably the most powerful song ever. I have and obviously so have a lot of other people, so the last lines: "there's no love in fear", and "claw your fucking throat away". are a very familiar feeling, espescially when given to you at the end of a 13 minute masterpice of emotions. this obviously came from the inner depths of their hearts, by just listening to the way they play you can tell that they mean every word and note they play. Beutiful song. | |

| jeez,toolband26 kinda hits it on the nose, i sorta thought this song was about a relationship and domestic abuse, the pushing and shoving, "no love in fear"-the feeling of loving someone even though they're putting an immense amount of fear on you, the eventual "tear your fucking throat away, it will end no other way" could be him fighting back...but toolband26 proves his/her view very well I only wish i could've seen them in concet playing this song, im gonna see them for the first time on friday in boston, nice! | |
