I didn't like any of the Reflection tabs, so I made my own. I don't
claim this tab to be perfect, by any means. I do claim that this was
not a quickly-made tab. I have enough working knowledge of guitar
to make something that comes pretty close and sounds like the
original. I also believe that this tab is far better than the other
Reflection tabs here.

Intro: Synth. Chords are: B5 E5 B5 D5 C5

Maynard has said that he believes information is pure, and people merely reflect it in different ways. Something you know is not your own knowledge, simply a truth that you are aware of, that you might reflect onto someone else. A person taking credit for their knowledge of something would be like the moon taking credit for the light it shines, even though it's the sun's light, not it's own. "The moon tells me a secret, my confidant As full and bright as I am, this light is not my own and A million light reflections pass over me. " The light(information) is not our own, it's simply something for us to pass on, and to realize this we must "crucify our egos." "Just let the light touch you and let the words spill through Just let them pass right through, bringin' out our hope and reason" is saying that if we all except information and knowledge(light) as truth, not our own, and let it pass through us(learn, teach) we can really understand the world and bring out our hope and reason. I'd say I'm 99% sure this is what is meant by the song. Maynard has said a lot of this in interviews he's given.

I believe that what everyone here has said...is basically what I believe concerning this song. Its just one of those songs that you can listen to sort of get you out of a rut. I know this song has helped me....I am a decent music fan and a weak expert at best when it comes to knowledge and or expertise of music. However, I will say that Lateralus is my favorite CD of all time and Reflection my favorite song of All-Time!

I think that the ego is often outdated for the common person in day to day life in this modern society. We are born with the ego for survival, but in todays society, physical survival is quite simple, and the ego often gets in the way. I believe this song implies that to advance, to further develop and evolve, we must crucify the ego. Imagine someone who lets their ego get he best of them, then imagine an incident involving that person if they simply put away with their ego, and it is easy to see how the song is significant.

I think this song means that we should drop our pride..."stop the hate", if you will. If we all work together as one we are "Capable of all Imagined and all convceivable". But I'm not exactly sure...

this is truly a masterful and beautiful song. it instantly sinks me into a relaxed and poetic mood. i am completely void of anger and i can look at aspects of my life in a different light. The line "...we are all one mind, capable of all imagined and all conceivable" is the most meaningful and powerful statement that i have heard in awhile. i had the previlage to see Tool live so i can tell you how captivating and how charismatic Maynard is. His lyrics have inspired and influenced my own writing greatly and he is a man to be respected, to say the least.
