| The screaming at the end cost his voice literally 3 weeks. That's why MJK never wants to perform it live. I suppose that would make sense when he's talking about the fans. The screaming sucked all of his singing ability dry and that's what his fans wanted. Well that's now how I see the song. | |

| i pretty much agree with wut a lot of you people are saying. I think you are right about weaker people leaching off of stronger people to gain power, but end up making the stong weaker. I dont really think it has to do with his fans. I think it has a lot to do with solicitors, taxes, etc.. (although strange for a song topic), along with all the fags out there who live off other peoples wealth. "suck me dry" basically saying, how everyone is asking for, or taking things from him, so much untill he has nothing left, and wants it to stop. "i hope you choke", basically an angry message to all of those greedy individuals, saying, you've taken so much, i hope it gets back at you. The Ticks a LEaches medaphor has to do with, well, blood sucking creatures, and he's relating them to people of society. But i think you guys were way ahead of me on that one. | |

| Ok, just thought I should say what I reckon this songs about, seeing as no-one else has. I think this song is about Tool's experince with record companies....especially their trouble with volcano. If you read the lyrics thinking like this they make sense. | |

| I definitely lug this song in with the place of hooker w/a penis, off aenima. neither of those songs are my 'most played tracks,' but they are both very important to the progression of the albums. joseph campbell has his whole "hero's journey" thing where once you reach a point of realization, you look back on what you used to be, where you came from, where so many others seem to dwell and waste away, and you have that moment of frustration and negativety towards the overwhelming complacency and selfishness of people. the plan is to continue to progress YOURSELF despite this external, (hopefully temporarily) inescapable truism. which is what is done with jimmy and lateralus. I think we can all relate to this song no matter how much we may not want to admit it. you just have to do that whole.. rise above.. thing. | |

| almost all of that fits pretty well with what i think...the religious idea is interesting, but i can see where it came from. i just think the song is about the givers and takers in life. some people are overly generous and others will jsut use everyone for everything they can get. to me the song is about what happens when the giver finally snaps and says take everything i have and then piss off cos im done feeding you my life. | |

| Not to dog other peoples opinions....they are very good ones indeed.....but if you ever notice that he will never sing this song live because he threw his voice out for 5 days.....the song he told people was about fans actually.....a little bit of irony it seems but yes the song is about the fans who "suck me dry".......and he was quoted later saying "I guess I pay the price for this song" (refering back to him losing his voice) but yes the record label thing would also make sense but MJK was quoted saying it was about his fans....and he will never do this song live because he threw out his voice :( | |
