This is a very short song but Riff 2 is the best guitar riff I have ever heard,
so I spent about a half our tabbing this song out.

Riff 1
e[-----]
B[-----]
G[-----] Guitar 1 tremolo this note near the bridge for about 35 seconds, use
D[--0--] a volume fade at the beginning and slow down at about 31 seconds
A[-----]
D[-----]

I'm pretty sure this riff uses an octave pedal, I'm not sure though.
Listen carefuly and decide for yourself

e[---------------------------------]
B[---------------------------------]
G[---------------------------------]
D[---------------3-----------------] Guitar 2, comes in about 0:06
A[--3-5--3-5-------3-5--3-5--------]
D[-----------3-5------------3-5-0--]

Riff 2 - Use Delay and Reverb for the right effect
e[-------------------------------------------------]
B[-------------------------------------------------]
G[----------------------------------------------0--]
D[--8p7h8-7---3/5h6/7-3-----8p7h8-7---3/5h6/7-5----]
A[-------------------------------------------------]
D[-----------------------0-------------------------]
^let this note ring for the rest of the song (not kidding)

Riff 3
e[----------------------------]
B[-------------------------3--]
G[----0-------0------------2--]
D[--1---1-0-1---1-0-1------0--]
A[--------------------1-0--0--]
D[-------------------------0--]

Just to add, Eon (or possibly Eon Blue, can't remember and it doesn't really say) was the name of Adam's great dane. Apparently he died of cancer, and the song title is a kind of tribute. http://toolshed.down.net/articles/text/terrorizer.jun.2001.html

"Eon = A long period of time Blue = A color offten associated with serenity, plainness, boredom Apocalypse = The end. Long Boring End, perhaps what the fate of humanity will become if something doesn't change." That's a bit wrong actually. It's a very common misconception that the word apocalypse means end or ending. Actually, it means revelation or unvieling. A serene, ages-long revelation? Kind of makes sense with the rest of the album. Also leads into the patient as well, as patience is described by a long wait, and one can only really be patient if they are calm.

I can't believe there is only one page for this song, this is the best pre-requisite to The Patient they could have made. It is so beautiful, it does make me think of space the first 30 seconds or so, but that isn't my overall impression. I agree with hobitt420 on this: "Eon = A long period of time Blue = A color offten associated with serenity, plainness, boredom Apocalypse = The end. Long Boring End, perhaps what the fate of humanity will become if something doesn't change." If you guys are diehard fans like me, I hope to see you there on their next tour. This has got to be one if the highest anticipated albums in the rock industry. We have been waiting a long time. Does anyone else think they can top Lateralus? I hope they can. Oh well, I'll love it anyways. Still, one of their best instrumental songs.

flower of life, when i think of blue, i think of calmness, and stillness, maybe a bit of sadness, depending on the shade. since blue is a general color, incorparating many shades, this song could symballize a long calming end. almost as if the world will end because everyone is in an "ether" high, and just "perish" due to your buzz wearing off.

Blue is sometimes used for sadness. (Long Sad End)

first, message to impaled onion, if you dont like tool, dont post on one of their songs! i dont post on bands i dont like, and you shouldnt either! your just making people hate you. about the song, hobitt420 kind of inspired my idea, i think it means simply rest in peace for his dog eon - rest (apocalypse - end, devestation - about the loss of his dog) in peace (blue - serenity)
