I think Paradox nailed the meaning on the head.

does anyone know why this song is called triad? Oh and by the way I saw this live also and all I can say is... oh my god! the whole progression from dispositioned to reflection then to traid was the most breath taking thing ever! And another highlight of the show was when they played H (rarely played on tour) with so much intensity and being close enough to see the expressions on all their faces was a plus also... There is no better band then tool! but stepping away from the obssesed fan part I want u all to listen carefuly to tool songs from now on (not saying u don't already but just in case) theres a message being said dealing with whats to come... soon

Paradox, very clever I get a feeling from this song a vision of adrenaline through a person, my opinion is a person running or holding back from something and the adrenaline is allowing them to do this... of course i am probably wrong

The song is called triad because Triad means 3. Disposition, Reflection, and Triad were origingally one incredbly long song, but were split up. I think they did this because the 3 songs, when combined are like three parts of a story. Disposition is very somber, taking a step back and looking at the things in life and starring at your world. Reflection is then looking in towards yourself and finding what truly makes you alive, kill the ego and become one with the world around you. Then Triad is the great explosion of freedom and knowledge that comes when you combine yourself and your world.

It's an instrumental. No vocals. That leaves the guitar, bass, and drums. A triad.

Disposition was about wanting to help those who won't ask you for help so that you can't help them. Reflection added to this with the message "give up the ego before it's far too late for me to help you" In Triad, I believe the message of "Reflection" got through to only some of the people he was trying to help, and then these people got all excited, energetic and were ready for life. ...but Faaip de Oaid shows what happened to those who rejected his help... they were left behind and destroyed by evil...
