| This song is beautiful. I love how the tempo changes at the "my oh my" parts. At first the fact that it was half in french annoyed me because Fran wasn't singing clearly and I didn't know what he was saying. But I know french fluently and when I look at the lyrics and understand what he's saying I think it's just completely special. | |

| One of the things I like about this song is that it begins somewhat cheerfully, and then when fran starts singing- it's suddenly sad. I think it's about reflecting on your existence when you face the fact that life is not always filled with joy. And if someone needs to know what the french bits mean: Ma vie (My life) Tout ma vie (My whole life) C'est la vie (Life's like that) Sur la dernier page du chapitre (on the last page in the chapter) | |

| i think it would be safe to assume this is about things comming to an end, but i think its also about knowing how good something is and that eventually it will come to an end and everything will be different. if its the last laugh of the laughter then its something that was fun but is about to end. perhaps its about a relationship being given the last chance to work? last page in the chapter etc. a chapter in your life. fran healy doesnt really write particularly starnge or complicated songs in my oppinion. | |
