Song: 'Coming Around' by Travis
This latest offering from the Scottish foursome is a more light-hearted
song than their previous efforts on 'The Man Who' - it reminds me of the
Byrds and their trademark jangling guitars in the 60's.I picked out the
chords by watching Fran Healey play the acoustic rhythm guitar on Top of
the Pops!
CHORDS USED: D X00232
Dsus2 X00230
Dsus4 X00233
G 320033
Em 022000
A7 002020
Verse: D G Em A7 (x2)
Bridge: Em A7 D G Em Em A7
D G D
Chorus: Just tell me... comin' arou - nd,
Em A7
..Comin' around (x2)
Verse
Bridge
Chorus, solo, chorus
Then to finish: D Dsus2 D Dsus4 (x2 - each chord change is
a single strum)

| I love Travis and this song is no acception. This song to me depicts the slow and painful breakdown of a relationship. This guy is standing in town, torn to pieces, watching but not appreciating the going-ons (sounds of the passersby, cars, etc.) He is crying the tears of a clown and abusing his mind. He wishes, like we all do, that pain like this came with a fore-warning, but, alas, that is rarely so; he laments, 'Just tell me when it's coming around'. DEEP!!! :) | |
