I don't know why Tripping Daisy's I Got a Girl tab hasn't been posted
cause it isn't hard and it is a really cool song. Well, here it is.
Intro/Verse 1:
G5 C5 A5 G#5 G5 C5 A5 C5
e----------------------------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------------------------
G-------------5-------------------------------5---------------5--
D-----5-----5---0-----7-------6-------5-----5---0-----7-----5---0
A---5---0-3---------7---0---6-------5---0-3---------7---0-3------
E-3---------------5-------4-----0-3---------------5--------------
Pre-chorus w/ mucho distortion:
C5
e--------
B--------
G-5-5-5-5
D-5-5-5-5
A-3-3-3-3
E--------
Chorus:
G5 C5 A5 C5
e---------------------------
B---------------------------
G----------5-5-----------5-5
D-5-5-5-5--5-5--7-7-7-7--5-5
A-5-5-5-5--3-3--7-7-7-7--3-3
E-3-3-3-3-------5-5-5-5-----
The number of times you play each chord is in question here, but the
chords are right and if you listen to the song, I think you can figure
out the exact pattern, etc.
Post-Chorus (clean):
G5 C5 A5 G#5
e------------------------------
B------------------------------
G-------------5----------------
D-----5-----5---5-7-7-7-7-7-6-6
A---5---0-3-------7-7-7-7-7-6-6
E-3---------------5-5-5-5-5-4-4
Bridge(w/ distortion):
A5 C5 G5 C5
e------------------------
B------------------------
G-2-2-2-2-5-5---------5-5
D-2-2-2-2-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5
A-0-0-0-0-3-3-5-5-5-5-3-3
E-------------3-3-3-3----
G5
e-------------------
B-------------------
G-------------------
D----5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5
A----5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5
E----3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3
I'm out,etc.
The outro is the same as the post-chorus, so I won't tab it out again.
I think that's all the parts. Here is how many times you play each and
the order, I think:
Intro/Verse 1 x5
Pre-chorus x1
Chorus x4
Verse 2 x5
Pre-chorus x1
Chorus x4
Post-chorus x4
Bridge x6
Verse 3 x5
Chorus x8
Outro x4

| i see as if there's two different girls, the girlfriend and the another girl who the singer is starting to like and maybe has had some sort of fling with them or something. It looks like the song alternates talking about them. Such as… “I got a girl who lives with me I got a girl she smells so sweetly I got a girl she loves her dog I got a girl i love her dog too!” talking about the friend and making her just seem like a nice person and yah. “I got a girl who stares in the mirror I got a girl who blames it on her period I got a girl she is so right I got a girl she's my guiding light” talking about the girlfriend, now here it seems like he’s complaining about her in the first two lines but then redeeming her in the last two. “I got a girl who loves good soul I got a girl who dances to disco I got a girl who wears cool shoes I got a girl who wears them in the nude!” this makes it sound like him and the friend were at a club and perhaps hooked up while they were there. It begins with him complimenting her music taste and fashion taste, and then saying “who wears them in the nude” makes it sound like, well he saw her in the nude with shoes. “I got a girl who speaks her mind I got a girl who will argue anytime I got a girl she is so small I got a girl she'll knock down any wall” It looks like he’s switched back to the girlfriend, and though what he’s saying could be taken as a compliment, he sounds worn down like she’s always arguing with him and is constantly battling with him and even though she’s small she’ll take down anyone. “Get a load of this she's always bitching at me when I'm feeling down, Asking questions with her little frown, I can't take much much more of this, i'm out” here it sounds like he wants to get out of the relationship because she’s always bitching at him and bothering him. “I got a girl i love to kiss I got a girl i never wanna miss I got a girl she's my best friend I got a girl that won't even hold my hand” this part sounds like he’s talking about the friend, and how he loves to kiss her, and he’s her best friend but now she won’t even hold his hand now anymore. “I got a girl that makes me laugh I got a girl i'll make her laugh too I got a girl she has girlfriends I got a girl i like her girlfriends!!” this sounds like he’s talking about the girlfriend and saying how they make each other laugh but he’s attracted to her friends. May be why they’re always arguing. “i got a girl And she's got a guy” I think here he’s talking about the friend and explaining why she won’t hold his hand because she has a boyfriend that she’s being loyal too. So yeah overall I think the song is just him going back and forth between these two girls. Yeah. | |

| I love this song as well. But I don't think that he is singing about his girlfriend. Maybe a girl who is like his best friend or is. Nice twist, huh. I had a girl like that once. | |
