This is yet another great song performed by U2. It is real easy to
play but it sounds great. To achieve almost the same sound as
U2, then you should definately us a Gibson Les Paul :).

| I like the obvious connection between "Do You Feel Loved" and "Yahweh" .' Take these hands... shoes...shirt". It always seems Bono is talking to God.And "it looks like the sun,(Son), but it feels like rain"' could be talking about the Son of God. | |

| The start of the song before the heavy synth rhythm reminds me of summer time.... This song will grow on you. Like others, I think it's about confusing lust for love. Is love more than sex? Yes. Do you feel loved? | |

| This one makes me wonder how hard it must be for Bono to be both a father and husband, and a Rock Star. Honestly, a very underappreciated song. My favorite off Pop. | |

| Proudestermonkey: All good points! It's very, very likely that my theory isn't even close to the real meaning of the song; this is kinda just how I imagine it when I hear it play. It seems to me like he's not speaking of a love affair really, but a relationship wholly different from love: that of an idolized rock star and a star-struck fan. In the "Man and a woman" line, to go along with my original theory, he could simply be referring to his relationship with his wife...how they "stick together" even through the utter madness of his career. So not that he's talking about the fan-relationship there, but only how he gets through his life with so many people out there also wanting a piece of him. As for the "see us through the rain" line, that's one of the main lines in the song that leads me to believe it's about a rock-star/fan relationship. He could be talking about the fact that no matter what U2 do as a band, no matter what happens in their personal lives, their fans are loyal; the fans are always happy to see him, they always "see him through the rain"...or when he's on stage, the connection he gets with his fans helps him overcome the difficulties of leading the kind of life he does. Once again, just a theory. That's just how I take it personally. :) | |

| I think this song is about how a lot of people confuse Love with Lust nowadays. Bono says he will stay loyal, "take these boots they're going nowhere you know these boots they don't want to stray" and he wants this girl to take him and "tie him down" (so he doesn't leave) Then they start having sex, confusing it with love. "pushing and shoving in the belly of a woman" could perhaps mean she gets pregnant? Then the "heavy rythym taking over" could be that they've finally outgrown their sexual relationship, and now are settling down and just trying to "stick together" The part in the song that confuses me is the constant references to the sun and rain. Maybe looks can be deceiving? Either way, I'm disgusted by the lack of comments on this song, one of the best on "Pop" | |

| here's just an idea, its probably wrong: theres a guy, and he thinks hes in love...but he has suspicions that shes just using him...or something along those lines | |
