| Um, if anyone knew anything about U2 they'd know that the song was written expressly about the work of Aung San Suu Kyi, the human rights activist and rightly elected president of Burma who was actually recently released from the house arrest under which the military junta currently running the country had placed her. Just saying. | |

| I dont care what this song is about because it is so good it doesnt have to have a meaning. It reminds me of all the times that I need to get away I love this song and it makes me wanna cry. I also think of 9/11 and It is such a good song that I cried at the concert in front of everyone | |

| I think if anyone knew U2 and the spiritual journey they have been embarking on for the last 20 years, then you would truly know what this song is about. I agree with dta2k8 in saying that this song is about heaven. Many times when the play this song live, at the end the Edge and Bono sing a chorus of Hallelujahs. This song is about going through the pain of life but being able to withstand it because of what we have to look forward to in the afterlife. "home i cant see where it is but i know im going". | |

| I think this song is about the hardships you will go through in life. Pain is inevitable but suffering is not. It is telling you that no matter what happens you need to be strong and stick to you morals. "Walk on" when things get rough and don't let these speed bumps get in your way. This is a truely amazing song... yet another one from and incredible band. | |
