No. It's from the Communists. You know the 4 parts from Berlin, in that time? Well, there was a train station (Zoolögischer Zugbahn) in the west part of Berlin, but it belongs to the Russians. So what have happened there? The station was full of glass. And the Russian and east-German teenagers had their free cocain from the communist state, to attrack the west teenagers to communism. This is at least the meaning of "Zoo Station". But if it's meant in the song or not, I don't know

To me it kinda starts off a new era for U2. As after Rattle n Hum they kinda were in overload and were ready to give it all up. Also this is when Edge broke up with his wife and was ready to quit and i read that Bono said that with out Edge they would not have gone on. Bono actualy referd to this as U2 breaking up then reforming as a new band with the same members. AB was a masive change in U2 and their direction (much greater then the more gentle changes between War to the Joshua Tree). So yeah 'Im read...' lines are saying 'here we are, this is us now'. I read a but much into this here but i have it as a bit of a response to 'Love rescue me' (see my coments on it). Were Love rescue me is the end of Bono the Christion and Zoo Station says 'hello to Bono the rock star'.

I don't really agree with 2861U2. U2 has had many opening songs such as streets, vertigo, and beautiful day only to name a few.
