| the funniest thing is that the day that we broke up was the same day that the first comment of this song was posted. And in that time I haven't heard this song yet! | |

| dulcarama's right about the meaning. Anyone seen the vid. it's just unbelieveable I nearly cried when I heard this first. Taped it and spent the whole night replaying it. Totally up there with the greats. | |

| I think it's about a couple in a crisis, fighting and you can feel the tension in the air. I agree with citz, the william orbit mix with the classical guitar is much better than the original. | |

| The single version of this song was quite poor. I think its the William Orbit mix or something, but another version is alot more rock and classic U2 sounding. | |

| its not supposed to be up there with the 80s stuff! its an addition to the 90s stuff seeing as its going on their 1990-2000 best of! its supposed to sound like a mix of their recent "all that u cant leave behind" stuff and their psycadelic 90s music. i think ppl who like U2 for their 80s work are very misguided. their best work has been achtung baby onwards. | |

| 'It's about a couple in a room,' explained Bono. 'Feeling a storm brewing in the sky outside and equating that to the pressure they feel in their relationship. I think it captures a sense of unease I feel around the world, especially in America, an air of nervous anticipation. It's not an overtly political song, but I don't think we could have written it before what happened in New York.' | |

| This is a great song. While it is not up there with some of the U2 classics from the 80's, I think it's right below them. | |

| The music video reminds me of the old movie Splash with Tom Hanks. Have any of you ever seen it? It is about a mermaid and a man and how it is hard for them to be together. | |

| Hey, I actually have heard this song! A radio station in my state actually has a copy of it. Let me just let you guys know, it's a good tune. As for the meaning, I think it's about a couple whom have either broken up, or aren't on speaking terms, or whom are far away from each other. One of them is reflecting upon it and is hoping for a new day, for the bad luck to just wash away. Perhaps Bono or Edge wrote it about thier relationships...that's only a possibly... | |

| I read on the official site what Bono said about this song, he says that it's about a couple sitting in a room and that the pressure of their relationship can be felt in the air. He was also talking about drawing inspiration from September 11. An awesome song and a great new single. | |

| Brilliant song, its one of the first i heard from U2 and I'm so glad that it made me go out and listen to some more of their work now that I know what I'd been missing out on. I'm amazed at that quote from Bono that jen deisel posted, because that means that when I heard this song I actually understood the meaning without realising it. Storms, 'compromise' in pressured relationships. | |

| Since I first heard this song I was desperate to obtain it, so I went to lengths to wait for it to come on the radio so I could record it on MiniDisc. It was well worth my trouble. I never really had a clue about this song's meaning until now, so I could see someone else's opinion. Good song though, probably from the 'Pop' era. | |

| This is the song that epitomizes the relationship between my gf and me. We spend a lot of the time at the beach. We also love U2 and Bono. This song is so good, though. U2 is a magical band! | |
