In a little while
Surely you'll be mine
In a little while... I'll be there
In a little while
This hurt will no hurt no more
I'll be home, love

In a little while
I won't be blown by every breeze
Friday night running to Sunday on my knees
That girl, that girl she's mine
Well I've known her since
Since she was
A little girl with Spanish eyes
When I saw her first in a pram they pushed her by
Oh my, my how you've grown
Well it's been, it's been... a little while
Bm G D D A Bm D
ooh ooh ohh ohh ohh ohh
D A
Slow down my beating heart
Bm D
A man dreams one day to fly
A D A D
A man takes a rocket ship into the skies
Bm D
He lives on a star that's dying in the night
A D A D
And follows in the trail, the scatter of light
(main riff)
Turn it on, turn it on, you turn me on...
Bm G D

D A
Slow down my beating heart
Bm G D

| the line about 'i wont be blown by every breeze' is definitely a Biblical reference. I also love the line of 'Friday night running to Sunday on me knees" I love the delicate touch of Christianity Bono puts in his songs. That particular line reminds me of a Jack Johnson song called Taylor, where he says "she thinks that singing on sunday is gonna save her soul/Now that saturday is gone.'' | |

| Interpretations of songs say as much about the interpreter as about the song, so a warning to those pushing the pedophilia interpretation of this song: doing so may say things about you that you'd rather not have said! Having said that, I think this is a truly beautiful song about living crazy (on Friday nights) when the people you love are waiting for you at home (on Sunday morning), hopefully willing to forgive you for your neglect. Since Bono is a musician who tours around the world and doesn't necessarily get to spend tons of time with his growing children, I'd imagine that this is a deeply personal song for him. FYI, "Sweetest Thing" has a similar interpretation; Bono wrote it for his wife to say sorry for missing her birthday because he was too busy recording "The Joshua Tree." | |

| this is definetly about waiting till the kid is old enough to screw. even so, it isn't nessecarily about bono. this is a dissapointment because u2's lyrics are usually really good. i hope this gets forgotten quickly. | |

| Okay, sorry to burst ya bubble guys, but this song was simply a song about a hangover. Well that's how it came into this world, then when Joey Ramone was sick in hospital, the song was played to him. It was the last song Jpey heard before he died, that is when it took on a more Gospel nature... | |
