NOTES: Note that there is a difference in the main riff when played, and that I did not
just type the same thing twice. As for the main riff variation, remember to hold onto the
high A before playing that note again. Finally, (though this is obviously not needed) to
play the guitar part, use your thumb to play any notes on the low E or the A string. For
the two appearing notes on the D string, use your index finger so the middle finger will
be read to hit the next notes. Play the notes on the G string with your index finger so
the middle finger can easily hit the few notes above it. Finally, play the B, and high E
string notes with your middle finger. Sha sha sha sha.

| Everytime I hear the song, I can't help but invision a scenario where a group of slaves are digging and singing this song exactly how it is. Excellent work song, I feel. That's why they created them in the first place, creates rhythm. | |

| "I remember laughing when I first heard it and asking what all that shawshawshawshaw business was about," said Rutili. "Isaac told me that when he was a kid his mom had all these Lithuanian records and he used to play them all the time. He couldn't understand the words but they were the only music that was around and he loved to sing along. He'd just sing shawshawshaw with the records. I thought that was perfect. Things like that always leak in." | |
