| Not sure on the meaning but i know that in the middle of this song where everythings quiet you can faintly hear Bert singing something about 'moon shine'. Im very curious now to find out what he was on about. | |

| i was in a relationship of five years that ended almost seven months ago. it started out great and it turned to shit after that. she always seemed to me to be two different people. when it was me and her she was the person i fell in love with (except for when we'd fight) but when it was us and other people around she kinda ignored me and didnt show affection and was pretty much a bitch. we fought alot becuz of this and alot of other shit. when she would get mad at me she would say harsh things and just be down right cruel... so i always thought she wasnt too happy with me and the person i seen when we werent alone was indeed who she really was, that being her "better half". here is my interpritation of this song, its what i get out of it after a hurtful personal experiance. "you surprise me, im looking out" in a fight he is shocked at how mean she can be to sumone she supposidly loves and he is giving her distance. "surprise me you jump back up onto your feet sumhow" how can you get over our fight so fast, act like nothing happened and pretend to be so happy? that shows you dont care much for me and its killing me still while i sit and dwell on that thought. "where'd you go" what happened to the person i fell in love with? "seems like your better half said it all" when he sees the transition, he sees thats who she has become and she is speaking in truth. even tho she may apolagize, he knows there is truth behind such cruel statements and actions, whatever they may be in that situation. "your wonderful" your so much like you were when we started out when your not angry with me or not around your "friends", essentialy when your fake and insencere. thats what this song means to me.... | |

| i love the used... but this song reminds of george of the jungle with drums in the intro.... then i found it was on the Resident Evil: Apocolypse (crappy movie) so now whenever i listen to this song i think of badly animated zombies... but i always think that a song has to do with the beat.. so maybe it the begining hes angry about what hes writing about, then in the chorus... hes seems softer... i have no idea sorry i never make sense | |

| when he's screaming he's saying "things appear...gone!" and then on the whisper part he's saying "you jump back uuuu..up. motivation. motivation." i think its about not seeing someone or a situtaion for what it is and kinda fooling yourself into thinking its something that its not. "surprise me i'm looking out"-that could mean "make me see, im trying to see that truth. hit me sonething real" "you jump back up, onto your feet somehow." that could mean that the other person can clearly understand whats happening and has recovered but kinda left him in the dark. and "things appear...gone!" could translate to the relationship or the situtaion appears to be solved and over with but he doesn't know what to make of it. | |

| No, when he's screaming in between verses, I'm pretty sure he's just screaming "feet somehow, god!" because he fades off after saying "you jump back onto your...". And I take it to mean (much like thinkfutile) that it's about someone who Bert trusted and thinks very highly of, but they did something bad that made him confused or "surprised" at how someone so good could do such a bad thing. Or something along those lines. And he just wants the better half of the person, he doesn't want to admit that there is a bad side to this person. | |
