| FIRST THING: will someone please lie to me and tell me this isnt the Used!?!? This is aweful, its like Smashing Pumpkins into Zwan. SECOND: THE FIRST PART OF THE LYRICS ARE WRONG Free from the torment of sin All this I'm giving up Much as the sun would decide to give in Explode into orange And hear all the voices sing praises with hymns Mark the birth of a change Free from the torment of sin All this I'm giving up... This is about him being saved or finding God or becoming spiritual "And hear all the voices sing praises with hymns" And it sucks third thing: if your wondering about the title, you can figure it out. Its similar to "A Box Full of SHARP OBJECTS" from the first CD...hmmm...not very creative here. They "used", haha, to be my favorite band. Not now. The more I hear these new songs, the more I see they also sold out :_( | |

| The first and second verses are wrong outkast524 had the first part right the second part is "Over and over again light with a sharpened egde cuts through the black empty space we call sky beginning the cycle that stays and I know in my heart we all die like the day and the night like the sun in the sky all this i'm giving up" I think this is about giving in to pressure because it is just so much that you can't take it anymore | |

| I think its about suicide, but knowing that you should go on and live out your life, because you haven't reached your time yet. It's about trying to start over, because a tragic event happened and some times that still feel that pain, and their so burried in it, sometimes they just want to die. But they know they need to keep on going. They want to get out of the sun/light (as a methaphor) thats burning down on them. They just want it to all end and start over in a good life. Their a bit lost as to who they are anymore being burried under so much pain, they lost themselves. | |

| I do think it's about leaving/disassociating with the LDS church. If you know much about the church and in that culture what it means to leave the church it makes a little more sense. Free from the torment of sin All of this I’m giving up The Church is very repentance based. So by not believing you are not tormented by your sins... you aren't repenting and punishing yourself. What he's "giving up" is the blessings of the afterlife that the church promises. Is there another side Beyond the black and white Place I could meet you by Place on the other side I’ll let you know when I go The LDS believe that you will be reunited with family in the afterlife. Many Mormons will try to say that you are tearing apart the family for eternity if you leave the church. That you will not be able to be reunited with them. I dunno a bit hard to explain but if you've gone through it before it's easier to identify I think. | |

| and one more thing. This is what I mean by sucking or selling out. Listen to the first CD. Find a band that they sound like, you cant. The Used are The Used, they have thier own thing. Listen to this new CD. Half of this new and "evolved" stuff sounds like everything else out there. Starting Line, Finch, god, I cant even name the rest of that crap. If you want recent bands who went through an actual "growth and evolution" look at the two Atreyu albums. Thats Growing and getting better. Not this. | |

| ok well to me this song is foreshadowing what is to come (in their next cd) because at the end someone says "het lets just go bact to the begining" and then you hear the hard hitting music of "sound effect and overdramatics" i think they are saying they will eventually go back to their old style....but thats just me.....music should represent where you are at in your life and not what popular on the underground scene and whos to say where they are at? | |

| I'm thinking the title of this song is kind of key to what its about. And the rest of the song seems to go along with this theory. That he is saying that maybe he likes the darkness too much and likes to be wasted away. That the purity (light) is too much for him (sharpened edge - it cuts right through him). The opening line(s) tends to explain it more clearly: "Free from the torment of sin All of this I’m giving up much as The sun would decide to give in Explode into orange" Sounds like a "when pigs fly" statement. Or maybe he's implying something deeper... When he gives up sin is when the sun explodes. Wow, orangepee... that was a really good analogy. I just read your post just now! It definitely goes along with what I'm conveying. | |
