| I think things weren't tangible for her. Everything was fake, everything was a too shallow for her to dive into. she was inexperienced to what life really is about. the begining, explains the concept for the rest of the song "in a day not my own./And as you walked into my life,/you showed what was needed to be shown./And i always knew what was right,/just didn't know that i might,/Peel away and choose to see was such/different sight." first of all... how can you have a day thats not your own? she lived for someone else, but then she was able to become her own person, to "peel away" and exprience the rawness of life, exprience things outside her own little world. it's like a foreign place to her that enables to her to see life in a different light. "And i will never see the sky...the same way./and i will learn to say good-bye to yesterday/and i will never seize to fly if held down/and i will always reach too high... /cause i've seen...cause i've seen.../Twilight ." the twilight= the different light. its like she had an a sudden manifestation of the essence or meaning living once someone enouraged her to spread her wings. maybe that doesnt make sense to anyone else but me... but thats okay. | |

| I read somewhere that she wrote this song when her ballerina career ended abruptly. That was her twilight. Her new music career is the dawn of her new life. | |

| she's saying that her life was kinda low and not where she wanted it to be. she saw it from an angle that kinda made everything seem sad. but then this person comes into her life and makes her see things in a different perspective.. one that she likes. "and i will learn to say good-bye to yesterday" suggests that she maybe had a problem with dwelling in the past. it's basically a song about someone making her see life differently. | |

| oh yah the definition of "twilight" means dim or diffused illumination...meaning she saw things from a different perspective and then this person showed her how things really are | |

| Honestly, I'm torn. Personally, though, my first impressions were that this person showed her things she always knew existed, but never expected to find. In the end, he's not with her anymore, but the things that he taught her will live on. | |

| i think that this song is about having to make a choice... you know, "and i will learn to say good-bye to yesterday, and i will never seize to fly if held down, and i will always reach too high...". shes saying she wont look back on her decision, and no matter what may happen she'll still continue to strive for greatness- she'll never give up. but this is just my opinion | |

| Hmm...I have a similar opinion. I think she was so used to living her life the way it was that somebody came in and made her see its reality. "I was stained, by a role, in a day not my own" means, to me, that she was defined by the life she was living but that he helped her see that it was not hers, that she was living someone else's life. Does that make sense? Probably not. | |

| Nessa is saying here that she was trapped in a lie or something along those lines, not knowing who she really was. Then, she met someone that, well, taught her how to live. She realizes she's been looking at life in the wrong way. She will never live the same way now that she's learned this, and she will be better because of it. This song HAS to be my favorite from the whole album. It's just SO strong. The music is too beautiful for words (when I first heard a download of it, I fell in love with the piano, but the orchestra's performance was stunning). This song is definetly about starting over and such. Fantastic, deep, and moving (when my friend first heard it, she cried at its beauty). I love this song so much, I performed it for our talent show last year XD Yep :) Great song, with a good moral and meaning. | |

| i think the song means something different then you guys. I think the whole thing is this person changed her and at the time she thought it was what she wanted, but she came to realize everything he tried to make her believe was fake, and she didn't ultimately like the person she'd become. That's why she'll never see the sky the same way, because her life can never be the same. I think this song is about the loss of innocence and immaturity. I think it's about growing up. I dont' know. I think it's a very sad song, but also happy in the fact that she's proud of herself again and she's now the person she wanted to be. She's not faking it anymore | |

| I agree that's it's about someone coming into your life and changing your perspective in a very unforeseen manner-"and I always knew what was right, I just didn't know that I might peel away and choose to see with such a different sight..." This is such a beautiful song and I totally connect with it because that's exactly what has happened to me this past year. | |

| i think that shes saying that she used to believe everything was perfect and she believed in a kind of idealistic world but then this person walked into her life and "showed what needed to be shown" even though he kinda took away her perfect world she needed to know it "As the sun shines through and pushes away and pushes ahead Fills the warmth of blue and leaves a chill instead and i didn't know that I could be so blind to all that is so real And as illusioned eyes i see there is so much to be revealed." He left a "chill" meaning that it kind of makes her sad and upset that the world isnt perfect; its a sort of bittersweet song | |

| the song is about realizing that you have the power to change the way you see the world. she had been living such a dismal life, then realizes that her view on the world has to change. this whole change and sudden empowerment is intiated by a person that shows her what is real. now, she has an optimistic approach on life..... this song is very simple but beautiful. personally, i love the version w/ solo piano, but the version w/ the full orchestra is amazing as well. | |

| There's a lot of opinions on this song...the way it comes across to the ear and the words we're trying to decipher have this way of clashing (for me anyways) when I play this song on my piano and sing it I get a feeling of silent anger come over me, especially at the second verse...but the words are (and confusingly) uplifting....it's like an oxymoron in a way...but maybe that's the point. She's still feeling the pain even though she knows things will change....Like how she says she's seen twilight, the darkening of the sky before night...It's like she's seen high and low and now even in-between! | |

| I think that this song explains how she used to think that her life was not hers to live… She felt that everyone else was in control. But then she met this person who taught her that she could shape her own future and she could “fly” as high as she wanted to (“you showed me I could change whatever came within these shallow days”). I think that she learned that mistakes should be left in the past, and that she is the most powerful person in her life. | |
