I feel like letting go, maybe not.
Em G
I feel like giving up, is all we got.
Chorus:

C G
and I'm moving on, (sometimes I feel alone),
C G C G
and I'm moving on, and I'm moving on.

in the end. Awesome solo. The chords are the same as in the
bridge.

| Scott has said that this song is realizing too late that he had what he had..meaning Mary. I never noticed How lovely were the aliens Lovely were the aliens He uses Aliens as a metaphor for Mary and the other people he's locked out of his life, including his children when he did the heroin (but then again, isn't MOST of the music about heroin and Mary?) :) | |

| I agree with most of you. I think it's about him finally realizing what's around him. That you're so close to something to love it, yet it seems so far away that it's alien to you. And there are the swinging moods. When he comes around he wonders of the alien he has made of himself to everyone else, " am i still that man who makes you who you want to be." | |

| i agree with ithinkiknowlyrics about the meaning of the aliens also, i think the title comes from how he is now 'loving the alien' or how hes realizing how much people cared for him back in the day, but he could never notice it at the time because he was always stoned out of his mind | |
