**************************EUROPEAN SON*************************
Ah the joys of manic, a tonal, feedback ridden art rock, hey?
The bass riff to this should be coming soon (I hope)- meanwhile here
are the chords.
*CHORDS* (EADGBe)
C X32010
C# XX3121
D XX0232
During the first bit, just play around with a D chord.
In the second bit, one guitar should always play
C# (quick slide up) D x3
C
For a few times, another guitar should double it. The rest is up to
you. Just remember- Lots of feedback, noise, improvised solos.
*LYRICS*
(As i hear them!)
You killed your Eurpoean son
You spit on those under 21
But now you blue cars are gone
You'd better say so-long
Goodbye
You paint your wallpapers green
You want to make love to the scene
Your European son is gone
You'd better say so long you blue clouds
Choo choo goodbye
SOUND FX (running a chair across a floor and then smashing a plate on it)
MINDLESS NOISE
*END*

| the sort of 'explosion' after the final lyrics, made me laugh out loud, it came out of nowhere, such an interesting song, great way to finish off this sort of album | |

| ...the last line is 'your clouds driftin goodbye'...and as for the meaning...lou reed dedicated this song to one of his professors at syracuse...just like the lyrics point out, its a plee against the white collard squares of our past and future...ruining everything freedom really stands for...(control to the free will)...wdc | |

| The professors name is Delmore Schwartz, an excellent American poet. European Son was dedicated to him shortly after he died. Schwartz didn't like rock lyrics that much so the song has the least lyrics in the entire album. | |

| i think it takes a different kind of person to listen to the velvet underground and actually hear what they're putting accross...you either have to be totally high...or have a more open mind then most...this song is the perfect example with its mixed melodies and untamed perfection. brilliant song. | |
