| I know it's not about a women, but it sounds nice enough for it to be. So whenever I sing along, I have a girl in mind. And I'm content | |

| Craig is a genius with these slow mellow songs, of course its about marijuana and i believe that its his attachement to it. He's even really good at doing at pttuing subliminal messages in it...for all the small minded people who dont know what maryjane is its marijuana | |

| It's about pot. Craig has said that he has no interest in a girlfriend; that's why he's so into music. However, I think he was ambiguous for a reason, maybe to allow people to think it's about a girl. Mary Jane said life's a wait (meaning that she wants to slow down nd be with him) I already knew Because we're down, we'll lose the town (because they're so wrapped up in eachother, they lose everything else) Just like I would choose (which you want to do) Mary Jane said minds are games (maybe a consolation, "It's all in your head" type of thing) I went to the moon (He's so happy he feels high with her) Before we know, she'll have to go (but she always has to go) Wish I were there too (Wishing he could go with her) But I've got to go (But he has to go too) Mary says I, I can love you (self explaitory in this case) Life's a wait (life can wait) Why should I lose? (they've got nothing to lose) But I've got to go (but he can't) See, I think he made it so you COULD interperet it as a girl. My opinion is that it's about quitting, or at least slowing down the use, of pot. | |

| Yadda yadda yadda, this song is wicked good. It must have to do with marijuana, Craig Nicholls is one of the biggest potheads ever. He carries his bong with him everwhere in a plastic bag. Yeahh Mary Jane... a girl.. puhh. Mary Jane is a smokeable goodness. | |

| I have a transcript of the song, if you'd like it. I got it off a friend. First off, Mary Janes = Marijuana Mary Jane said life's a wait (meaning you can slow down everything by getting high) I already knew Because we're down, we'll lose the town (because you're feeling down, you'll get high so that you can forget about everything) Just like I would choose (which you want to do) Mary Jane said minds are games (basically saying that by getting high you can play with your mind like nothing's really wrong) I went to the moon (kind of a feeling when you're high, like you're on the moon, weightless and that you don't have to deal with everything & your depression) Before we know, she'll have to go (before you know the feeling of being high will fade away and you'll have to face everything again) Wish I were there too (Wish you could leave with that feeling so you don't have to deal with everything) But I've got to go (but knowing you can't and you have to go back to everything) Mary says I, I can love you (basically saying that it's as if marijuana could be your only escape and you really don't need anything else) Life's a wait (slowing things down by getting high) Why should I lose? (what have you got to lose when you're high) But I've got to go (knowing that getting high is not really an escape and that you're going to have to face everything in the end) So basically that's it. Some people say that it could be referring to pot and a girl, but I don't see how that could be. It's basically a song about how Craig turns to pot whenever he's depressed or whatever. Rock On, Jazz | |

| I don't think it's about weed. Not every band writes songs about drugs. C'mon. Let's just say, I'm gonna interpret it as a pseudo love song. OK? | |

| the vines capture a style that i thought was lost forever, that kind of old school rock n roll style. craig defently can sing, and the band has talent, they sound good, and make great music. but the lyrics to most of their songs arent that good. they sound like really, really bad poetry...like he's rhyming random lines.....but i guess its not what you sing, but how you sing it. and he sings it well... | |

| no one would name a song mary jane if they didnt intend for it to be about weed. they guy is depressed because he hasnt smoked a joint in a while. (and stoners often get in wierd moods when they dont have their drugs) | |
