Standard Tuning

the Intro/Verse is played with a lot of effects going on to give it a spaced out sound, 
try using delay and maybe a slow phaser. The Vines' guitarist plays these two chords 
below, but rather than strumming the chords he picks through the notes of the chord in 
different patterns and sequences, and its kind of difficult to follow exactly what 
is being played because of the effects, so its easier to just improvise your own picking 
patterns rather than trying to play exactly what is on the cd. it will sound the same. 
these are the chords:

then there is the Chorus, which is played with a kind of fuzz distortion, also right before 
the chord changes, the chords are bent up a little bit, listen to the cd and you will understand 
what i mean, the chords are:
