I think this is just one of the pettiest songs EVER penned. It's so sweet and romantic...^^ Reminds me of my friends Al and Daisy.

Mmcambells, if you're going to bad mouth a hair metal band do it to Poison, okay? Out of all the glam bands of the 80s Warrant would have to be in my top 5. This song isn't one of my personal favourites but it's beautiful nevertheless.

The one thing I'm confused about is in the first pre-chorus, he says "I don't need to be the king of the world, as long as I'm the hero of this LITTLE GIRL". Little girl...maybe his daughter? Because "baby girl" might mean loved girlfriend or wife, but "little girl" is not at all your girlfriend or wife. Beautiful and amazing song either way, just curious about that part.

Personally if no one has noticed every old song is either about sex, drugs, or alcohol. And I'm pretty sure this one's not about the last 2. The song is talking about having sex with someone he loves.

Yea I agree with ^exeF I love this song but have two different opinions about the meaning of it. The first was of a rock star or dad or some idol to this little girl whether child or teen and she's depressed but her idol gives her hope no matter what hard ships gets in her way that she will be truly happy aka Heaven's not too far away and the second meaning is like everyone else is saying that its a wife or gf with a boyfriend or husband trying to make ends meet and proves himself worthy for this woman even though no one else agrees he is to her.

It's about a guy so in love with a girl, but her friends think that he's not good enough for her. He's telling her that he will do whatever it takes to give her a good life. As long as she believes in him, they can be happy. I love this song too, it is such a classic.

If a country singer re-did Heaven it would probably be a hit again.
