Weezer - Butterfly
Tabbed By: Bert

album: Pinkerton

for this song, i realize there is no bass part, so here's what i did:

For every chord of the song, play that note, but play it higher than
a typical root note

For example, here are the notes i refer to:
G E C D
G|-------------------5--------7------------------------|
D|---5-------2-----------------------------------------|
A|-----------------------------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------------------------|

play those in a pattern to go with the song and throw in the
occasional fill every now and then. it's not hard, and it's a fun
way for bass players to enjoy a great song like this one.

this song is the sweetest song ever. i love the feeling behind it. i can just imagine a boy going after a butterfly when i listen to it. i know that there is a deeper meaning, but when you listen to it, it is like a story being told and it's so sweet.

I love this song. "Everytime I pin down what I think I want It slips away" *sigh* oh so true...

Absolutely beautiful song, whether its true or not, i think this song is an analogy of falling in love and like that it's gone. The magic of love can disapear at the drop of a dime and i guess he's attributing that to catching a butterfly and watching it die on him. I dunno i could be wrong its happened before.

notice how the track listing is so well thought out on pinkerton. its like a story. this is the perfect song to end one of the greatest contemporary rock albums around.

i had the same thoughts as "prophet"...dont all weezer albums end with a nice slow love song? genius. i love this song, and im glad its at the end of pinkerton...a uplifting/energy song after butterfly wouldnt sound right. i like the song a lot....
