This is the solo to el scorcho. It is fairly simple. You will have
to figure out the timing on your own.

Well, I find it surprising that no one has yet tabbed this song,
especially since the main verse seems quite easy to play. At the moment,
I do not have "Pinkerton" with me, so i therefore am unable to figure out
the chorus or other parts. But, nevertheless, i figured that this would
at least help someone figure out the rest of this song or at least show
them how to play the basic riff. As always, send any corrections to the
people that handle that sort of thing.

-------4-----------9-----------4-----------9--
-----4-----------9-----------4-----------9----

Also, if you have ever heard the song, I think it is quite obvious how to
play the arpeggiated chords. And, I am pretty sure that the chorus and
the other parts of the song revolve about this main riff.

WEEZER

This song is super easy, the solo is even pretty easy. I tabbed
it in about half an hour. I use "power chords" for the chorus,
and that sounds pretty close. I've played the whole thing with
the C.D., and it's right. Here goes. The ^×s mean vibrato.

INTRO/VERSE (basically goes through whole song)

Ab Db Do that 3X, then throw in:
e----------------------|---------------------------------------
B-----------------6^×---|-----------------8^×--------------------
G-------5^×-------------|-------5^×------------------------------
D---------------6---6--|---------------8---8-------------------
A-----6---6---4--------|-----6---6---6-------------------------
E---4------------------|---4-----------------------------------

CHORUS

Ab Db You may want to play this the 4th X
e----------------------|---------------------------------------
B----------------------|---------------------------------------
G-------------6-6-6-6--|-------------8-8-8-8-------------------
D---6-6-6-6---6-6-6-6--|---6-6-6-6---8-8-8-8-------------------
A---6-6-6-6---4-4-4-4--|---6-6-6-6---6-6-6-6-------------------
E---4-4-4-4------------|---4-4-4-4-----------------------------

FAST PART

Ab Db Bb Eb
e--------------------------------------------------------------
B-------------6-6-6-6-------------8-8-8-8----------------------
G---6-6-6-6---6-6-6-6---8-8-8-8---8-8-8-8----------------------
D---6-6-6-6---4-4-4-4---8-8-8-8---6-6-6-6----------------------
A---4-4-4-4-------------6-6-6-6--------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------

SOLO

e--------------------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------11--9--8h9-------13------11h13
G--------------------------9-8---------------8-----------------
D---8------10--------6--8-----------------------------13-------
A-------------7------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------

Then just play the intro as the outro, and you're set.

Tuning: Eb - Ab - Db - Gb - Bb - Eb

This is the solo to El Scorcho which starts at approximately 2:25. It's
pretty easy to play. There were already transcription of this solo but
there are little errors in them; not big but they're there :) I think
my version is correct. I tabbed it for a guitar tuned in Eb like River
but if your guitar is tuned in E just play each note one case lower.

-----------------------------14--12~~------19--17---16h17--------21-------19h21---------
--------14-------------------19--17~~----------------------17--------------------------
-/16~~---------------14--16------------------------------------------19----------------
------------15~~-----------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|------|*

*for this part, I tabbed two differents fingering. They are both the
same notes. I just didn't really knew which one was easier to play so
just choose the one that suits you the best :)

I like this song because it uses some neat techniques to express lust, love, confusion, and lack of communication. I appreciate their ability to leave all the cliche styles in the dust, and still sing about something that everyone can relate to. This song has been close to me from the first week that pinkerton came out. Spread the word.

any song that stars off with gargling has got to be awesome, especially by Weezer. this is a great song and is put together very well to disguise it's enuendo. it is closely linked to M. Butterfly, hell, the generals name in the play is Pinkerton guys, read something now and then. The lines about addictiion are very clever too; "I wish I could get my head our of the sand... and you could keep my fingernails clean." Later
