| A little more about Weezer and Kevin Smith, this song plays at the VERY last section of Mallrats, while showing a scene of Jay, Bob and the monkey Suzanne walking down a road | |

| Even though I'm a massive Kevin Smith fan, I just recently found out that parts of Clerks was filmed right in the comic book place next to my house. I used to go there all the time too. Small world... Back on topic, this is a cutesy-poo song. Yes it is. | |

| quoted from the booklet in the new Blue Album Deluxe Edition by Weezer : "suzane was a talented A&R assistnat at Geffen. in the long months of limbo between completeing the blue album in october '93 and its eventual release in may '94 she became a big weezer supporter, doing her best to keep the guys optimistic about their future with geffen. as the lyrics impy, suzanne did in fact help rivers out with her spare winter coat when he needed one, and made plates of brownies to c heer him up. her dovotion and aid were perfectly summed up in thei song. before she knew of the songs' existence the guys perfeormed it a cappella for her in her GEffen office. heedless to say it surprised the hell out of her! originally the line 'even izzy slash and axl rose, when i call you put 'em all on hold' read 'even kurt cobain and axl rose..." in april '94 the shocking news came of kurt's untimely death. though the two had never met rivers had found great inspriation in kurts songwriting on nirvana's "bleach". so when it came time to record 'susanne' rivers decided to change the lyric, not wanting to disrespect the memory of one who had been such an inspiration." | |

| Simply a love song. The line with Izzy, Slash, and Axl Rose...I have to give props to Rivers for embracing the G-N-R. Also, remember that this song was written for the Mallrats soundtrack? Well if you paid attention in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, then you noticed (along with a thousand other references to Smith's previous movies) that the monkey they steal is named "Suzanne". A little weezer/kevin smith trivia for that ass. | |
