Home W Weezer Damage In Your Heart Guitar Tab

make believe
weezer - the damage in your heart (tab by max s)
just worked out the song is actually tuned half a step down, but don't panic, you can
still play it in standard tuning, its just the cool harmonic bit you won't be able to
do properly.
if you do decide to tune your guitar a half step down, you can still use this tab, but
remember that every single note goes up one, so for example instead of a 2 it would actually be a 3.
and i've also added the proper harmonic part at the bottom of this tab, though i've
left in the alternative method for standard tuned guitars as well

I absolutely love this song. It's my favorite on the entire record. I love the part where he says "One more tear falling down your face doesn't mean that much to the world" and "I can't tell you how the words have made me feel."

The correct lyrics are "One more loss / In a losing life," not "One more loss / It'll lose in life." Otherwise the posted lyrics are OK. Great song - a bit of a self-pitying song, but the genuine emotion that Rivers Cuomo puts into it makes up for that. The song is basically saying, no one cares if you are having a hard time in life - but he sings it in such a convincing way.

I thought Make Believe was their third best album, below Blue n Pinkerton. And yes, this song owns.

I agree with the Pinkerton topic, and how it's the honest record number two, and all those things that Shastasheen said.

How can I possibly talk about this song without mentioning that it is the first song since Pinkerton that has gotten me choked up? Seriously, this song is the best new Weezer song in the near nine years since Pinkerton was released. The chords, the lyrics, the vocals; they're just perfect for each other and I feel that it creates a classic song... Rivers just seems to have his heart open throughout the whole record. I didn't think that Rick Rubin would have this much effect, but to tell the truth, I think without Rick Rubin's guidance, we would have ended up with Maladroit Pt. 2. Meditation and Harvard seemed to have helped Rivers. It takes a good song to be inspiring and amazing at the same time..... Rivers gave us one HELL of a good song... thank you Rivers for this great album.

This song seems like it is reflecting on something sad that happened to to he narrator. Something that was a part of the author's life isn't as close anymore and he's trying to forget the hurt that it's brought. Such a great song.

I rank MB ahead of Blue but second to Pinkerton (Pinkerton will never be topped)... This song is outstanding, his vocals on this album is incredible. And one thing I noticed with this album that has been missing on everything since pinkerton, and that is Rivers singing the chorus differently during the song. If you notice on Maladroit and green every chorus is identical. On Blue and Pink, he always altered teh way he sang it. This is the first album since then that I believe Rivers' is wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Consider the placement of this song, right after "Pardon Me." (in which the main character (him) hurts one he loves, is angry at himself, and seeks forgiveness from the audience-character (her)) Suppose she forgives him. Then suppose he hurts her again, and the she just can't take it anymore. She says something that hurts him and leaves. Now he just wants her back. He gets her back temporarily in the next song, but it's downhill from there.

It sounds a lot like he recognizes the pain that is already there. However, it is the chorus that gets me. He is pointing out to himself and through that, to us to let go of the hurt/pain (it is almost as if he is pleading with himself to just let go of the pain). But does he?

this is my favorite song on that CD and i cannot find it anywhere else online. he's saying, i've made a mistake and im sorry. but when he said "One more tear...to the world" that was cold and he was telling her to quit feeling sorry for herself.

wow, so depressing. because it is true 'one more tear, falling down your face doesnt mean that much to the world" and everyone knows that, but doesn't want to believe it.
