This "Death and Destruction" of Weezer's new c.d., "Maladroit". This is probably
there best song on the whole album. Please note that this is not completly
correct by any measure! For example the solo you will have to improvise, but I
did give it a shot!

I LOVE this song.. It kicks ass and it kind of comes close to the pinkerton emotion, sincerity an honesty

I can relate to this song so much, it's scary. I had this crush on this guy, for like a long time. He was a totally jackass though... "So I learned to turn/And look the other way".

once you notice the I LOVE YOU part, it really changes the whole view of the song. "so i learn to turn and look away"--you'd think he's gonna attempt to get over this girl that's doing him wrong. yet in the end he still loves this girl... how sad

i cant listen to this song anymore since i found out that he spells out "i love you" at the end... this is one of the saddest songs ive ever heard in my life... this is even sadder than Butterfly. i dont think anyone who has ever been in love with somebody who doesnt even deserve your love could listen to this song without getting upset. i love Weezer for making me feel this way... they are so much more than just a "rock band".

Both versions are great, although I think the instrumental was a little bit better. But then, that is just me. The lyrics are not really the classic example of weezeresque poetry, but that really seems to add to the song. I would kill for the piano arrangement that Rivers Cuomo wrote. It is such a pretty song.

i haven't listened to the new one enough to take a liking to it, so i'll just say that the instrumental version rocks.

This song was originally recorded as an instrumental, for those that are curious. I prefer the new version, I think the lyrics complement the guitar/drums very well.

so few words yet so powerful... this song just randomly played on my ipod and it entrapped me. unfortunately, i'm sure this has been everyone's "theme song" at one point or another.

the gloomy days of the green album's reign has passed, and the kings of...well, whatever kind of music you classify weezer as, are back. joy.

lots of the songs on maladroit were recorded with what sounds like instrumental ideas... then crappy lyrics were added. the lyrics for death and destruction do nothing, they're just typical weezer hoo-ha. the music is what is supposed to be focused on - the song has movement that even some orchestral pieces have a tough time accomplishing.

this song is amazing. definitely one of the few post-pinkerton but pinkerton quality songs. it's really great instrumental and while i dont like the sound quite as much with the words, the lyrics are so great that they make up for it. this song shows that somewhere, deep down, rivers still has it, though he sadly could have fooled me after maladroit and make believe.
