Weezer
Haunt You Everyday
Make Believe (2005)
Tune down 1/2 step
Am Amadd9 Dmadd9 G C F Dm6 E7 (piano)
I don't feel the joy
I don't feel the pain
You were just adored
I am just insane
Walking on my own
Leaving you behind
You were crying out
That you need to speak your mind
Oh, so alone in love
So alone in love
I am going to haunt (haunt you) you every day
(Haunt you) Haunt you every day
Am Amadd9 Dmadd9 G C F Dm6 E7
I am gonna kill
When I need a thrill
Eating at the heart
Till I've had my fill
When will stupid learn?
Fire's gonna burn
Think of consequence
Then you move when it's your turn
Chorus
F C G x 4 E w/ solo
Walking on my own (soft)
Leaving you behind
You were crying out
That you need to speak your mind
Refrain
(Haunt you) Haunt you every day
(Haunt you) Haunt you every day
Am Amadd9 Dmadd9 G C F Dm6 E7 x 4 w/ solo guit & vocal
Am

| This song is about how Rivers is a stalker and likes to follow people around and "haunt" them. He is actually watching you right now via a camera in your bedroom. | |

| i intrepreted this song to be about the singer, who is probably void of emotion, who leaves his partner for no apparent reason, simply because he is "just insane." no questions asked, the other person can't even "speak their mind", so they are "haunted" everyday by the singer. this is my #2 favorite song on the album...after "freak me out" :) | |

| Best Song on the Album. I love it so much. I thought this was a Weezer song to the fans, critics, etc, that weezer was going to haunt you every day if you like them or not. But What a awesomefucking song. Yes, the perfect song to end the album. | |

| This song is about a Rivers screwing over a chic. He told her that he loved her, made her feel special, when really, she was just his "toy". He decides that he'll break up with her when he's had his fill with her, when she's no longer of any use. He haunts her because he told her that he loves and she truly loved him, but now he's gone and it was all a big lie. | |

| Oh and the way he say "I am going to haunt you every day" makes it sound like the girl is actually aware of his pain and doing it to be intentionally sinister, when in reality girls most likely don't give you a second thought after they dump you! But in this song she does know, and taunts him with it over and over. | |

| ok, don't comment on songs you don't like or think are dumb, we don't care to read rants about how you don't like the song. anyway. i agree mostly with redlight. It just sounds like a break up song to me..and i know that whenever things dont work out with someone i loved i'll think that it will haunt them every day like it had been doing to me. at the very least its like almost hoping that the other person has any idea at all about what you are going through feeling this hurt. I think rivers did a great job with this song especially because he wrote it entirely on piano.. | |

| from the official street team website Straint from the band: HAUNT YOU EVERY DAY Rivers: Rick said, write a song like Billy Joel or Elton John, so… Brian: But no pressure! [laughter] Rivers: So, I didn’t really accomplish that at all, but I did write a song on the piano. So that’s about as close as I could come. Brian: I think it’s a beautiful chord progression. It’s deceptively simple too. It sounds a little more complex than it is, and it’s great fun to play live - I wish we would’ve tracked it more, and played it - approached it more how we do now. But I think it came across pretty well. But I think - any regrets, I wish we could re-record that song how we do it right now. Scott: It’s another one of those songs where the less bass notes I play on it, the better it works. I remember switching back and forth from trying to do it on piano, or Rivers playing it on guitar, and then going back and back and back, and it turned out to be just right. Rivers: It’s the first song I wrote entirely on piano. | |

| Well, that didn't work out. I meant to say that I love bumpygrimes. And then I meant to say that it's a good song, and then I added that it's a good closing song. | |

| this song is dumb. "I am gonna kill when I need a thrill" how much more un-original can it get? i read that rivers wrote this song on piano. i think that's what went wrong with this one | |

| I don't think he's talking about himself at all. I think he didn't necessarily love her but was with her and got bored of her ("fire's gonna burn") And he might've even had fun hurting her. She got really hurt and alone in love and she feels like he's haunting her (thinks of him 24/7 etc.) That's all (: | |
