| Brian said it was about a spider in an interview, but I think he was just messing with us. It seems to me that it's just about meeting a sketchy looking person in the city at night and being freaked out, and then later realizing he's actually a nice guy and feeling bad. | |

| This is an interesting song... I wouldn't think it would be about a spider, because you can't buy a drink for a spider. But other than that line, it would almost make sense. Although it wouldn't be a very serious song, then. But whatever, it's Weezer, they can do whatever they want. | |

| i love the way rivers sounds on the chorus this is by far one of the top 5 best songs on Mb and i can really see how jasonporter16 can infere it's about a spider but is there any concrete evidence to it such as river's quoting or something. id love to hear the story behind the song i know the album isnt out yet but damn more ppl should on weezer | |

| I think it makes the most sense for it to be about some guy he sees in the city, because personally I've never really seen many spiders in the city, but that could just be SF. As for some ideas of it being a gay guy or about middle easterners, i've never found Weezers lyrics to be very political, and i really doubt he would be freaked out by a gay guy... | |
