easily the deepest most emotional song off Make Believe. Great song

This song is about how Middle Eastern terrorists are constant bombing our children while the liberals sit on their hands and do nothing about it. They're saying. "You freak me out so we're just gonna let you be! BTW, here's a drink for you."

Brian said it was about a spider in an interview, but I think he was just messing with us. It seems to me that it's just about meeting a sketchy looking person in the city at night and being freaked out, and then later realizing he's actually a nice guy and feeling bad.

Fixxxer169, that's an unfair generalization of people of middle eastern descent.

As everyone knows, Rivers' songs all have a deep meaning... I mean, there is no way on the first couple of listens to Butterfly would you get that the song is about a one night stand... Same with this song, on the surface, it appears to be about someone you meet in the street freaking you out, but.......

This is an interesting song... I wouldn't think it would be about a spider, because you can't buy a drink for a spider. But other than that line, it would almost make sense. Although it wouldn't be a very serious song, then. But whatever, it's Weezer, they can do whatever they want.

I personally think that this song refers the being scared of a person you like. You normally can act great around people. But this person freaks him out for the first time.

the lyrics aren't great, but the way this song sounds is hypnotic. there's no reason why it should've made me cry but it did.

i love the way rivers sounds on the chorus this is by far one of the top 5 best songs on Mb and i can really see how jasonporter16 can infere it's about a spider but is there any concrete evidence to it such as river's quoting or something. id love to hear the story behind the song i know the album isnt out yet but damn more ppl should on weezer

I think the line "i know you dont mean no harm" safely excludes this from being about middle easterners.

I think it makes the most sense for it to be about some guy he sees in the city, because personally I've never really seen many spiders in the city, but that could just be SF. As for some ideas of it being a gay guy or about middle easterners, i've never found Weezers lyrics to be very political, and i really doubt he would be freaked out by a gay guy...
