| I dont think this song has anything to do with guitar method. Jack white is a totally capable guitar player as well as an intellectual person. I doubt he would write a song COMPLETELY about playing guitar. I believe it is a song about the plan of the Freemasons and Knights templar(a.k.a. illuminati, ordo templi orientis, secret church of the holy grail, etc.) There are many allegories in the song concerning them, the title alone is a blatent reference to the occult and magical arts. | |

| i can't believe no one hit this. black math was a concept persued by Futurists John Kane and Lala Rolo. While there was some occult imagery used it more and art, poetry, musical and philosophical concept than a "religion" per-se. The Freemasons certainly don't enter into it. in fact the exclusivity of Masonry goes completely against the general tenets of black math and Futurism. the SF weekly did a great article on the band sleepytime gorilla museum (who's name is also a reference to the works of Kane and Rolo). That can be found here: http://www.sfweekly.com/Issues/2004-11-03/music/music3.html jack white, much like SGM, has been said to be facinated with the works of kane as well. hope that makes it clear for everyone. | |
