Artist: White Stripes
Song: Air Near My Fingers
Album: Elephant
tabbed by tim dawson.
This is a VERY easy song...mostly piano, so follow this basic chord pattern
on guitar:
A C D G
there's a little improvisations on the piano that arent too hard to mimic using a basic
pentatonic scale.
also, during the verses the chord that he strums every now and then is a D.
here are the chord formations:
A: C: D: G:
e-5 e-3 e-5 e-3
b-5 b-5 b-7 b-3
g-6 g-5 g-7 g-4
d-7 d-5 d-7 d-5
a-7 a-3 a-5 a-5
E-5 E-3 E-5 E-3
peace.

| I beleive Jack does an interpretation of the "Wild Thing" riff in this song. Pretty cool song. I like when he says: "Well, I'm not a genius But maybe you'll remember this I never said I ever wanted to be a man" | |

| Well this song is my favourite on the album. I'm confused as to what it is about, "I get nervous when she comes around"..the title "the air near my fingers".. but I like dangerousbagels interpretation. Makes sense. But it seems to have all these different implications at once. I'm easily confused. | |

| Its about a young drop-out who has a over-loving mother, who thinks too much of him. "Life is so boring It's really got me snoring I'm wearing out the flooring In a cheap motel But I don't have to work And I might be sinning But I never have to listen to The rings of school bells" Are about him dropping out, and living in poverty. "Don't you remember? You told me in December That a boy is not a man Until he makes a stand Will, I'm not a genius But maybe you'll remember this I never said I wanted to be a man" Is about his mother expecting so much more of him. Witch will also explain, how he "Gets nervous when she [his mother] comes around". | |

| "HIS parents are quite rich so HE dropped out of school" megisgod, he didn't talk about Jack White but about the man in the song. This song is one of my favourites. I think the Red Hot Chili Peppers ripped it off for the verses of their new song, "Dani California"... | |
