The lyrics kinda point to how he's getting sick of the popularity he's reaching. The "bleedin' right before the Lord" part could mean he's put on trial for everyone to see, kinda like a judgement thing. The part where he says "the stains coming from my blood tell me go back home" and " far from this opera forever more " sound like he's trying to escape the lime light and get away from it all, back to his small time roots.

It seems like there are a lot of contradictions in the lyric making this song seemingly complicated. What I have been able to get out of it is that there is something lingering in his mind, provoking some type of response. However, possibly internally, something within him is holding him back from expressing what he has to say. "message coming from my eyes says leave it alone"; "the feeling coming from my bones says mind your own"; "the stains coming from my blood tell me go back home". It almost seems that there is a problem in the world that he is concerned about, but I have no idea what that is from earlier parts of each verse. I love how there is no chorus though. Excellent job.

Keen I'm right with ya. this song is fantastic but the video makes my eyes hurt. seems like the drums don't have much to do in this song though. who cares.

ok for all you who want to knwo what it means i do. he is talking about himself his personality his act. the way he acts basically i forgot the word. but what happens is throughout it he tlaks about how people are tryign to immitate him like his fashion and such would becom another trend so waht happens is that decides well if you want it so bad earn it. and then he talks about going into seclusion so noone would be able to immitate him but he knows he cannot live like that.

i think wannabepretty nailed it. he's becoming so famous and he could take advantage of it, but chooses to stay humble.

war? no, unless its with himself. In his line "all the words are going to bleed from me and i will sing no more" shows how if he changes for his fans then he'll no longer be himself. and since the "words" are bleeding from him they'd be "stains comin from his blood" telling him to get out. The line where he says "every single one's got a story to tell everyone knows about it from the queen of england to the hounds of hell" is like how theres no one who doesnt know them and he thinks it cheepens him. Its a morbid response to his fame and how he doesnt want it but accepts it grudgingly. to a further note the white stripes said in an interview in blender magazine that they're probably going to put 2 albums out at most and break up.
