I think this song is one of the first songs where Entwhistle's bass playing could be heard well. He plays that monster like beautiful woman and you can tell he's the master behind the orchestration of this song. Without him, the Who would be nothing!

did you ever imagine that you had a magic car that could sweep you to place to place in the the air? well thats what i think this is a magic bus that could take you anywhere in the world. however the singer want only to be taken to his girl...maybe he can't drive yet. but he's hoping when the bus comes to take him she is waiting for him.

Is this guy tripping out on acid while riding on the bus to his sweetheart? Or is it about a guy tripping out on a bus on his way to Austin Power's pad? I don't know what it means for sure but it seems that a bus must be involved in the thick of things.

People, i know it may seem like it is about drugs, why does every song always have to be Drugs? I like the romantic interpretation of this song much better, and thats what i think about when i listen to it. A guy lives far from his girl, and takes a bus to go see her. One day, he gets sick of taking a bus, and decides to buy the bus. He argues with the driver, then finally gets it. The 'dust' is whats kicked up as he drives towards his girl. Now, isn't that more fun to think about when you hear this song?
