Hey guys, this my very first addition to UG. To me it seems pretty accurate.
I'll let you guys decide. Enjoy!
B
So unimpressed but so in awe
E
Such a saint but such a whore
B
So self aware so full of s**t
E
So indecisive so adamant
Bridge
F# A
I'm contemplating thinking about thinking
F# A
It's overrated just get another drink and
A
Watch me come undone
Chorus
B E
They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
B E
I pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep
B E
If I ever hurt you your revenge will be so sweet
F# E
Because I'm scum, and I'm your son,
E B
I come undone
E B
I come undone
Verse 2
B
So rock and roll, so corporate suit
E
So damn ugly, so damn cute
B
So well-trained, so animal
E
So need your love, so f**k you all
F#
I'm not scared of dying
A
I just don't want to
F# A
If I´d stop lying I'd just disappoint you
I come undone
Chorus
A
So write another ballad
A
Mix it on a Wednesday
E
Sell it on a Thursday
E
Buy a yacht by Sunday
F#
It's a love song
F#
A love song
A
Do another interview
A
Sing a bunch of lies
E
Tell about celebrities that I despise
F#
And sing love songs
F#
We sing love songs
B E
So sincere oohhh
B E
So sincere
Chorus
B
They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
E
I pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep
B
A young pretender and my crowds above can see
F#
I come undone
E
I am scum
B
Love your son
E B
You gotta love your son
E B
You gotta love your son
E B
You gotta love your son
E B
Love your son
E B
I am scum
E B
I am scum
E B
I am scum
FADE (or if singing to self, end with E B E F# E B)
Hope you enjoyed playing it! I sure do. Any questions or corrections, please tell me!

| I reckon all of your views are really good....i heard in one of robbies interviews recently when he was asked about what one of his songs meant....he described what it meant to him but he said the beauty of writing songs is that people can see and relate to them in many different ways...thats what he loves about being a singer/songwriter most | |

| I love the video. I´m not a party animal but sometimes when I wake up with a little hangover I like to bring to my head the first part of the video, when Robbie finds his house all messed up after a wild night party. It´s a very impressing video indeed. | |

| Yah, I've always thought the line "they're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street" was basically an example of how the only things people really focus on in life nowadays are vanity/perfection and pain... it's sad really, but it's true. It really sounds like he is putting himself down in this song, being pretty blunt about it too. I like it. | |

| Has anyone else seen the uncut video for this? At the end when he has the threesome, in a couple of quick flashes the two girls turn into two guys in wigs! Its really freaking weird. You can really only notice when it's in slow motion but it's pretty damb obvious once you do that. Freaky shit! | |

| LeakG i think when there is a quick flash with the guys at the end is just to play with the publics mind, always hounding him of his sexuality. This song is i think an anecdote or biography almost, of his thoughts and feelings, how he has dealt with blows to his life etc and almost a comparison of the old days to the new. | |

| Hi, just wanted to add something to the lines of up4it that Rob had written this song for his mum, because he should refer to that in this song by singing 'I am scum, I'm your son' Well in fact, this isn't particularly meant as being the son of his mother, as well being the son of his home country; England, he said that himself once in an interview. By the way, there's something I can't stand, I'm Dutch and my English is quite good, but I still don't know the meaning of 'Come Undone'. I know this is a term for something, but I don't know what. Have Googled it all over but not succeeded. Does anyone know what the term Come Undone, or in present time, coming undone means? Thanks Estrella | |

| i my view "they're selling razor blades and mirrors in the streets" is a reference to cocaine - coke is placed on a pocket mirror and divided into lines using a razor blade - then the line "I pray that when I'm comin down you'll be asleep - i.e coming down from coke your felling sh*t so you dont want anyone close to you to see you. | |

| I think this song is about the way celebrities can manipulate people to having different views about them. But really it's just a load of lies, and the people will never know the real person that lies behind. And I suppose that the verse about the love songs is saying that all that the celebrities really want is the money. | |

| I thnk that the line: "They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street" is a really sad reflection on society. The first thing that it makes me picture is an insecure teenage girl sat infront of a mirror, holding a razor blade and punishing herself for her reflection. She bought them both from the same "street", showing that society not only gives people the motivation to pull themselves to pieces and torture themselves, but also the means to. | |

| i'm pretty sure i've heard robbie say its about the coke thing but i like candycat's idea. he's created a very vivid image in many peoples heads, about this song. the first couple of verses are about his constant contradictions of himself, to the media and to himself. | |

| The whole album ("Escapology") has a lot to say about celebrity, fame and putting on an act (see "Monsoon", "Handsome Man", the two songs about LA) and this is another perfect example. And I would have thought that razor blades and mirrors is a clear cocaine reference (as also made by Oasis in "Morning Glory"). | |

| I think it is written about Robbie's own life, and not about society in general...The way that people see him: sometimes he is loved, sometimes he is hated. But people expects things from him: expect to see him funny, clever, expects him to write another unforgettable innocent ballad, or they will dissapointed. And the way that sometimes it does affect him, he is not sure of who he is, he,like everyone else, insecure and I think by "coming undone" he says, he gives into his addictions. And people can watch him coming undone, although they might not want to see it, they want the character, and not the person behind it. | |

| I understand the "They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street" line again like you, maybe like a view of nowaday's society, which only cares about killing and looking in mirrors, pretty selfish... I agree with the idea of the girl that CandyCat suggested. I've never understood this song very well and I'm still trying to find out more about it, to get into it... | |

| I love the line "So need your love so fuck you all" I like it because it kind of sums up alot of my personality and obvoiusly his. He really wants everyone to love him, but just pretends he doesn't care. So if the don't like him he just says "Fuck you all" | |
