Willy Mason - Oxygen
The verses are, in fact, as simple as they sound. The only really challenging part of
this song is the chord sequence in the last 2 bars of the chorus. It doesn't take much
shape until the chorus, but it's a satisfying thing to play if you're on your own and
comfortable with singing and playing simultaniously. This may not be 100% correct, but
enjoy, and improve on it if you can. note: brackets under the prechorus are to help with
timing, listening to the track is always best though.

| I got a note in my Where Humans Eat album saying if I wanted to keep in touch, I should send my name, address and email to his house in Leamington Spa. I might send it soon. Music Theory in senior year, in America, he would have been 17/18. | |

| I saw Willy in the uk and he had rang out of EP's he was so kind he took down my adress and sent me signed copies of his EP and "where the humans eat" he says he wrote oxygen for his music theory class in senior year...dunno what the equivilent is in the UK. His lyrics make me think of someone much older, he has such a unique ability to portray so much meaning in words. I sure as hell no i wont loose contact with him, all be it by e-mail and letters. | |

| yeah yeah great song and all but most seem to be missing the point.. emma says "I need his CD badly." another says "Im getting the album for my christmas". zoee says " quick run out and buy it!" etc... yet mason says "We can be richer than industry As long as we know that there's things that we don't really need", "I wan't to live beyond the modern mentality where paper is all that you're really taught to create" and "look around to all the people you see, How many of them are happy and free?" hahaha | |

| I heard this song on Tuesday night on the radio, I fell in love with it. I need his CD badly. The line I love most is the one that goes "We can speak louder than ignorance, cause we speak in silence every time our eyes meet." It's so amazing! Best song I've heard all year definatly! | |

| I think that's a bit overboard rek, Willy's music's not industry! This song is great, slowly creeps along- it give the feeling that these words are really important to the singer. I love the line 'Better than oxygen' he's saying that something out there, or the thing we breathe and consume- it's not enough- there can be something so much better for us if we try. love it =) and also where he says 'on and on and on it goes' is really good because he's realising that it's harder then it seems but he's still got hope. | |

| this is the one song i've ever heard that really touched me. and sohereiam is right, its Ritalin, a drug that's used to treat ADHD kids. my brother used to take it, it stunted his growth killed his appetite and stopped him sleeping. i completely understand the "for all the children who think that they've got a disease" line, he's barely got any self esteem. Willy Mason is an amazing guy, and this is the most inspiring song i've ever heard | |

| i have to agree with you.. the lyrics to this song are so strong.. some lines are just so powerful.. "do you remember the forgotten america.. justice, equality, freedom to every race" and "we can be stronger than bombs if your singing along and you know that you really believe" this is a fantastic song such a simple sound but so so powerful one of the best songs i heard all year | |

| first of all: love love LOVE this song. i think he's vaguely describing all the fuckedup things about how the world is, like they are diagnosing kids with ADHD and giving them psycho meds just because they wanna go outside and play. or how the industry makes us think we have to have things just so they can make money. and how everyone gets stuck on 'makeup and hair' or outward appearances and dont really look deeper to find the truth in people. makes you think!! | |
