| The metaphors in the first verse: "ill be a killer whale", "ill be a vulture", "ill be a monster" All use vicious animal features that are powerful or perhaps destructive. The next few quotes use destructive elements: such as "ill be a tidal wave…” ”I’ll be a perfect storm…” “I’ll be a hurricane…” ”I’ll be a forest fire…” ”I’ll be an avalanche…” These are also very powerful. The speaker uses the variety of metaphors that he does because of their connotations. His metaphors use animals that cant be caged, and elements that cant be stopped. This shows that he the speaker does not want to be affected or subjected to any outside forces. He wants to be powerful. | |

| This song has many different themes to it, to whom ever listens to it. One could be a concept of growth of the human race, an idea of what people think when they justify things to themselves. Perhaps it is about someone who has been teased or bullied and they want to get revenge at whoever has been mean to them. Or if you want to just choose the most obvious theme to it, without looking any closer to the song. You could say that it is about baby whales wanting to be big killer whales | |
