This was the last song EC played before departing. He felt they were going too commercial so went to John Mayall's bluesbreakers. Song was written by future 10cc Graham Gouldman. You still hear his EC's trademark guitar tones on the song especially the solo in the middle.

It's about a guy saying he'll do anything to win the love of this girl. I believe that this was there first big hit after Clapton left the band.
