| It makes complete sense... She is leaving him "in place of" this song, now on the surface that seems a little odd, but what it means is that she is leaving him despite him writing the song. "and if its healthier to leave you be may a sickness come and set me free kill me while i still believe that you were meant for me" She has decided to go separate ways, so he must leave, and it is killing him. This "rough draft" is him expressing how he feels, but it does not change her mind. Even the title is fitting. The more and more I read/listen to it, the more ingenius it becomes. | |

| I dont understand why it matters about the whole "in lieu of" thing. So what...it doesn't have to make perfect sense. I mean, do you take everything you hear literally anyways? | of all the yellowcard songs, this is my favourite... its beautiful. i think its about him leaving her even though it hurts him so much. he seems to thinks that she doesnt love him as much as he loves her, but he's asking her to prove him wrong so he can come back. his 'epic drama' and 'scripted page' is his letter telling her what he thinks, and he wants her to correct his 'rough draft'. thats what came into my head when i read the lyrics anyway. when i first listened to the song, the line that seemed to stand out most to me was 'wouldn't want to wake the eyes that make me melt inside'.. | |
