| I relate to it in the sense of the lost relationship I am guilty for, but not from cheating... *Something I've been keeping locked away behind my lips I can feel it breaking free with each and every kiss I couldn't bear to hurt you but it's all so different now Things that I was sure of, they have filled me up with doubt * I assume that's what everyone is talking about, the cheating thing. I take it as lies, just lies. Lies I hid behind to protect myself and I only ended up ruining the best thing in my life. And now he knows... and when he is by my side he is no longer the lover I once had. I can still feel his heartbeat. I know things are different because of what I did and nothing could make them go back to the way they were before. But now I'm just rambling in my self-pity and fear for having lost the best thing in my life. I love YC, even though this entire album brings me to tears, as do a few of their previous songs. *sigh* | |

| The narrator.main character in the song did something wrong and hurt the person he loved. In the first verse, it shows how he feels really guilty...He can't sleep... Her breathing keeps him awak because it always reminds him that she's there and he thinks about what he did to hurt her. His hearts beats faster and the sinking feeling is the guilt in his stomach. In the second verse he's telling about how he told her lies and he kept his secrets, but everytime he touches her he thinks about telling her because he once again feels guilty. The next verse is he can't figure out if he should be happy beacause whatever he did made him happy, but he hurt his love. He doesn't know whether to stay with her or go on with what was making him happy. That's my take. =) | |

| How am I supposed to feel about the things I've done? I don't know if I should stay or turn around and run I know that I hurt you, things will never be the same The only love I ever knew, I threw it all away These r powerful lyrics. Hits me so hard, cause i can relate to these lyrics perfectly. I feel like its me saying it to my ex everytime i hear this song | |
