| What does "breathe the windows down" mean? I'm no native speaker, so I think I don't understand the context. | |

| From this song it appears Ryan Key has definately matured, from 2003's Ocean Avenue, as the lyrics are much different. The contrast between Lights and Sounds and Ocean Avenue are already becoming apparent through two songs that i've heard, this one and lights and sounds, their first single. Rather than being about heartache, it seems that Ryan Key explores other emotions, this one possible disbelief. The title Sure thing falling, already indicates a contrast, an element we see throughout the song, primarily through the chorus: Heroes and Crooks, two seemingly contradictory people. One of them Steals you, one of them Saves you, another strong contrast. Key though this diction seems to me, to attempt to reveal that everything that looks like something, may be something else. Sure thing, is no longer a sure thing, the "sure thing" falls. The 2nd verse of the song shines light back on the love emotion of Ocean Avenue. (Remember ... reminds me of the single ocean avenue, "i used to sit and talk to you" etc). In conclusion, I think that this song is saying that not everything is what it is. Not everything is certain. What is percieved as being true, may in fact be false. All Sure things fall... If anyone knows what the 15 lines means lemme know pls. i cant get that. | |

| I-4 is the east/west free way in central florida, it connects Tampa to Daytona dn passes through Tampa, Lakeland, Orldando, and Daytona...i grew up along the "I-4 corridor" and now the area quite well and its nowhere near Jax, plus when YC came to UCF in Orlando for a show Ryan said that they song made a direct reference to driving in teh highway in Orlando | |

| Ryan explained that this song is about a girl he knew who lives in Orlando. She is dating a "doucebag" as he adiquitly put in concert. The "He likes Vampires and hitless radio" isnt that signifigant of a line, its just summing up the boyfriend as being a toolbag. | |

| I'm glad I understand the highway thing now, but does this song not smack of an affair, illicit or ill fated relationship to any of you? This is how I see it: You ride in silence because HE WILL NOT LET GO - the imagined girl who is sung about, and her boyfriend who won't let go of her, even though she wants to be with the singer. So as for 'heroes and crooks', the singer from Yellowcard is the either the metaphorical hero or crook, as in one respect, if the girl is leaving the guy for him, then "one of them saves you from this" e.g. he saves her from the unhappy relationship, or "the other one steals you" e.g. steals you away. Another bit I noticed was: He could take you all the way to Church this time... As in, you could get married, but in reality the relationship is a lie. 'Sure things fall' in this context means to me, you think you'll end up happily ever after, married with 2.4 children, but maybe that's not the case, because it's too obvious and expected, because all sure things fall. Does anyone else see this in the song? | |

| It's actually "vampires and hit list radio" (I think I would've liked it better if it was "hitless", but oh well.) At first, I thought that line was totally random, but perhaps it's a tiny shot at the music industry - it doesn't matter what's in right now in the long run, because what's popular in music will surely shift and fall like everything else. Nothing is forever. Kind of like they're saying "we'll play whatever we want to now and not worry about it, because in the end it doesn't matter." I agree with on the "He can take you all the way to church this time" line. | |

| It's "fifteen lines" people. If you'll friggin actually buy the album you can just glance at the booklet. Yeah I agree burnzNFG about the church line being about getting married, but their entire relationship lacks depth (can be summed up in fifteen lines). The singer is definately singing about a girl with another guy. | |

| i love love love this song its amazing the instrumentals... and omg ryans voice sounds so pure on this song! i think "breathe the windows down" is being used as "we could breathe, the windows down". Ryan was referring to drugs ("do you remember how we used to get so high...") and so they put the windows down to freshen the air that they were breathing, therefore, "we could breathe, [with] the windows down" thats what it means to me.. any feedback? | |
