dnask8, I think that they have their own opinions, whether they believe fighting for your country is prideful or not. "All he had was a line for his name So he could sign away his right to be proud" He did sign it, so obviously, Jimmy thought it was prideful. The fact is, Yellowcard, like most bands are liberal. This song IS about the war in iraq, and you're political opinions only contradict your stupidity. You dont want them talkin about the war and such, but you yourself bring your own political views, i voted for bush blah blah. no one cares if he 'had it together better' than kerry or not, the fact is, soldier ARE being killed in war, and it does affect people at home. And in the end, to those people was the war worth the people's lives? answer is no. As a whole, our country may believe it was worth it but to 'his lady', his mom, and his friends, it simply wasnt. Don't diss on YC because of their political views, and one song shouldn't make you 'like' or 'hate' them. Go listen to Wake me up when September Ends by greenday, you'll hate them too

Spare us all your pro-bush rants. Yellowcard wrote a song, it's pretty clear what it's about, and nobody gives a damn who you voted for. I think this song perfectly represents the change our country has gone through: from Believe off Ocean Avenue to Two Weeks from Twenty, it's exactly how a lot of the country is feeling.

Weird, I really like this song, its obviously all about the War and tells the story of Jimmy going off to war and coming back dead. Bit of a slow song? I still like this one. Good lil tune.

Hmm, well I dunno about you guys, but this song just wasn't very convincing to me. Just the way they threw this one political song into the middle of the album, it doesn't seem to fit. Seems like maybe they just wanted to jump in with all the other bands that are expressing political views. Maybe, I'm wrong. Maybe they put a lot of thought and work into this song, but it just doesn't feel like it to me.

First of all...Yellowcard didn't just wanna jump in with all the other bands who speak their mind about politics and the war....Ryan just wanted to write about things that were real in his life and the world around him...and everyone know's how Ryan feels about the war and how he is against it..and if he wants to express something that he feels strongly about soo be it...nothing wrong with expressing how he trully feels about things that are actually going on in the real world today.=) and he also has said many times that they wrote this record for themselves..not for anyone else...that for the first time he wasn't afraid to express how he really felt about something and not have to worry if it wasn't what people wanted to hear. =)

"All he had was a line for his name So he could sign away his right to be proud" What the fuck does this mean? Are they saying there is no pride in fighting for your country? If so, they are totally fucked and I hope they get drafted, sent to the front lines and fucking slaughtered. You know I used to have respect for Yellowcard. Then they put out Ocean Avenue. Then, last week I picked up my new AP from the mailbox and there is an article about how they are trying to get away from the teeny bopper image and put out some material with some decent content. I say, "okay, I'll give it a shot." I get my advance copy and there is this bullshit on here! They rest of the record sounds pretty good, but this is totally fucked and I lost all respect for them once again. What about this: "And there's still no shame From the man to blame" Is he talking about George Bush? I really don't care if they can like him or not, but it's pretty lame to call out this shit nationally when your band really doesn't even have a fan base that's even close to being able to vote. (And if you have something to say to try and talk shit to me about ol' W, I don't even want hear it unless YOU ACTUALLY VOTED IN THE LAST ELECTION!!!! Besides, I am sure you are not even at the intellectual level to be touting your beliefs all over the internet anyway.) Basically, I don't see eye to eye with the Commander in Chief (that's the president you dumb fucks) but the fact is that he had his shit together better than Kerry in my eyes, so I took the lesser of two evils. As far as the fucking war goes, I have 100% support for the man and the troops. Personally I am happy we took Iraq, it's not like they were doing anything positive anyway over there so why not take em over? Good. As far as this song goes; these are to conclusions I draw from it. #1 - Yellowcard tried to put out a decent album, but tried to cross into a debate that was far over the heads of their fan base and ended up looking like a bunch of naïve, pussy bastards who have had everything handed to them on a silver platter their entire lives. Yay for them! #2 – Yes there is a war happening, and no it’s not going to stop soon, so all your little MySpace bulletins, protests, and marches are not going to accomplish shit. #3 – These people who are “two weeks from twenty” are putting there lives on the line (and sometimes losing them) for you so you can sit right there at your computer bitching about something you really have no fucking idea about! Now I am pissed so I am going to quit writing. If you disagree with me good, that’s what our troops are over there fighting to make sure you will be able to do for years to come. Appreciate what you have, and what the president it fighting to maintain. Fuck face. Just so you know: I don’t have a problem with abortion, I think a girl should have a right to chose (and chose to go to hell) if she wants. I don’t have a problem with gay people. (Let that fags marry, it’s not going to affect me in any negative way) I am way too cool for you. HA! Joking

dnask8....... its ignorant people like you, who make every other country hate americans. the band thinks ur prez is a deuche, and quite bluntly ...... he is. he couldnt count to ten on his own. anyways, getting off topic. yellowcard is one of my fav bands because their CD's are great listen through albums start to finish, theres never a song u need to skip. Two weeks from twenty is a great slow song talking about these kids who sign up cuz they think it will be glorious. then get there, and realize,,, holy fuck. remember in farenheit 911, they asked that soldier after he got relieved if he would ever go back. he said he would rather go to jail for life. but dnask8, u prolly never watched that show cuz of ur love for george dubbulyuh. both of u should vanish.
