Harvest Moon by Neil Young
My version of this song is taken off the unplugged album.
It is the best tabbing for song so only get this and forget
about the rest of them.
This song has a riff playing at intervals throughout the song
and an arpeggio is played as well.
Riff. The riff is played by strummin' chords . It is very important to
only strum from the fourth string down.
E/0 E/0 E/9 E/9
B/10 B/12 B/10 B/12
G/11 G/11 G/11 G/11
D/0 D/0 D/0 D/0
You probably wont be able to get the strummin right unless you
listen to the cd.
The arpeggio is simple.
E/-12------/

G/-----12--/
D/-------12/
A/---------/

| I am ASTONISHED that this song has only TWO comments. This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Ever. It deserves so much more recognition. | |

| Great song! I especially love the Eddie Vedder cover from the Toronto show.... maybe it's one of those you had to be there things but it still sounds great on the CD. | |

| larkin's got it. the singer is still in love with his woman after all these years. and the moon's rising on their lives (they're going to be dead soon) so enjoy it while you can. maybe he calls her closer because she can't hear as well now. | |

| If you have never been in love before and want to know what it feels like, imagine yourself and that special person in the scene that Neil paints in this song, get the imagry in your head, and by god, it's the closest to the real thing. | |

| I think he is thinking in longer terms in this song. I think that the harvest moon refers to a couple who have been in love all of their lives and are now getting to the "fall" of their lives. The references to children sleeping seems like he's reminiscing "but now it's getting late and the moon is rising high" as they are growing older and they are still as much in love as they ever were. | |

| Great Song. The meaning is pretty clear and the song speaks for itself. As I was listening to it, I imagined myself dancing slowly in the mountains on a late summer night with my crush. Wussy, probably, but who cares. It takes a man to admit he has a wussy side. | |

| Also, PrimoOoze, are you sure your dad wasn't referring to After the Goldrush? I see absolutely no connection between Harvest Moon and ufo's! | |

| When I was young I don't know why but my Dad also said that. I don't understand why Neil Young is so overlooked, its sad really. If more people listened and could understand his music, it might not be such a harsh world. | |
