| this site REALLY needs to somehow note when songs like these are covers..I see too many comments from ppl who think this orignally came from some lame ass tv show, when the song is really over 20 years old (and IS about nuclear war). | |

| Okay if everyone doesn't know that the people on the O.C. commissioned Youth Group to cover this Alphaville classic, they suck, ANYWAY they used it totally innappropriatly, seeing as the song is about nuclear war. DUH | |

| This song, to me, is about summer, holidays, the beach, your best friends, icecream, not wanting to grow up and sunsets. The OC is my fave show in the world, so I'm gonna be biased, but it's the show that promoted this song to the world and I'm forever grateful for that. Youth Group is getting more recognition and every band wants recognition, right? It's a great cover and it does the song justice. | |

| yep totally not for the OC. I hate people making covers of songs especially for such lame shows. as for it being about nuclear war i think each song has different meanings to everyone so its not really right to say 'it is this or it is that' its something different for everyone anyway I LOVE ALPHAVILLE and they diserve all credit for this song *mutters to self 'stupid people making covers'* | |

| This is a fuking great song i gotta say.. i hav both Alphvilles and Youth Groups versions and in my opinion they are both very good... I like this new version a little more tho.. it 2 me is too kool 4 the O.C but then again i dont watch it.. but none the less its a great song... n i reckon ppl should stop arguing ovr it bein on the OC n sayin that the show ruins its reputation... does it make a difference at all?? i mean i cant see how a tv show could ruin a song.... 2 me i think those ppl who are havin a go and venting their frustration on the OC should grow up and just enjoy the music. The OC if anything gets ppl aware of sum good music goin round..and if it wasnt for the OC half the ppl wouldnt know bout this song.. anyways i love the song. it makes me think and i love it, catch | |

| This is a wikid song!! The OC totally pulls it off.. It's all about being free and being young at heart forever... So many adventures couldn’t happen today So many songs we forgot to play So many dreams are swinging out of the blue We let them come true There's so much to do and so little time.. we want to remember everything.. do anything that comes to mind.. The world is full of adventure.. if only we could do it all... | |

| I loved the Youth Group ever since I saw them tour with Death Cab. I work at the gap and heard this song playing. I checked our playlist to see who it was by and was surprised to see it was by the Youth Group. I can't wait for these guys to tour the US again. | |

| Enough of ragging on cover bands which Youth Group are completley not cause they have a good catalogue of originals that should get more credit then this cover song but haven't yet. The original by Alphaville just suits the bands style so who better to make a cover? Its not like they original band gets no credit anyway, try some fat royalties that would surely come in handy for some burn out aging musicians from the 80s | |

| love youth group's cover...YOUTH GROUP, not THE YOUTH GROUP!!! love the alphaville version too, and also love the dancey interactive one. the OC doesn't ruin music, it gives it more exposure, and that's good for the artists. youth group are the greatest. and yeah, the song's about war. | |

| AAAAAAARGH quit the O.C - i knew this song would be ruined and now its claim is that it belongs to "ryan and marissa" - i want the music selecters of the O.C to keep their greasy paws off the bands with merit because your trashy show exposes them to trashy fans who destroy awesome music.... love youth group - shame such an awesome band from sydney are now part of the pretentious lives of californians. | |

| I think the song is rather appropriate for the OC. It's sad, yet associated with youth and could only fit properly as a final ending. I love how Toby says "are you going to drop the bomb or not" | |

| Ok, this song is a cover, if you people don't know this. The original was by Alphaville, and it's better. Well I think it's better probably because I heard it first. Well it's definitely more 80's. Which is always cool. Alphaville's version is also the one in Napoleon Dynamite. | |

| ahh i love this song when I heard it on the oc I was like wasn't that in napolen dnyamite ? i think it was. But anyways I was looking for the lyrics of this song for a while and you just posted them so thats probally why they weren't here when I checked this site. This song really suited ryan and marissa for 'their song" like how it says "Hoping for the best but expecting the worst" like how so many bad things have happend to them in the oc yea its a great song | |

| Have you guys who stupidly believe that this beautiful song has been 'ruined' just because it was aired on the OC, have any idea the depth and importance the music is to the show? "Passionate about good music and up-and-coming artists, Schwartz (the creator of the OC) has made the selection of music for "The O.C." one of his main areas of focus." Have any of you 'haters' even looked at the back cover of an OC Mix Compilation? Because if you had, you defintely won't find people like Ashlee Simpson or Britney Spears or the Backstreet Boys on there. Do you think Josh Schwartz hops on google and types in, "songs not on the top 40" or "amazing bands and talents that I can ruin repuations of by airing on my show." I think it's increbidly unfair to say a song has been 'ruined' just because it was screened on a television show of which the creator of the show, actually cares about the music he puts on it. And it's so funny how that other person commented that its a shame Youth Group are now a part of pretentious Californian lives. I mean, the way he wants to keep "that sort of music" for "his sort of people" not the "trashy fans," it seems he thinks those "trashy fans" aren't good enough for music like Youth Group. Oh wait, hold on - who's the pretentious one again? He's a hyprocrite - his opinion is not worth anything because he's just as bad as those 'pretentious Californians' - whoever they are. In the end, The OC, shouldn't be blamed for 'exposing these bands to 'trashy fans.' I doubt Schwartz put a gun to their heads so he could use their music. It's these precious bands that accepted so maybe you should blame them for wanting more people to hear their music. think they're great and appreciate their talents. I think Youth Group are great; this is a truly beautiful song. | |
