My good friend Gary says that it's about the Trinity. But i like KoiHoshi's explanation a bit more.

wow... that's a good explanation of one of my favourtie Zao songs... i never really understood what was meant by the lyrics... i love the lyrics just because of how poetic they are, the whole opposites thing... i like this explanation, and even if it's not what Dan meant, it can sure mean that...

i believe this song is about life and how life is pointed towards a destination a race of standing still, i think it talks about good friends that you have along the way that you spend as much time as you can with but they still have a different outlook on life and a different personality and when you die or move away they will be like ghosts of you because you have left a part of you with them life is a race towards death some people are scared some people are at peace (possibly because of their religeon) no matter what your doing you are in a race, a race to the end

When I saw Zao right after the album came out, they said the song was about dealing with Panic Attacks.

This song i can heavily relate to. This song speaks to me as going into Christianity and being hated for doing so. "They seem unseperable, they seem so far apart..." While you have your friends, they may not agree with your beliefs, sadly. I have experienced this and this song means alot to me. It makes me think alot about staying with my beliefs and not straying, standing firm with it and having to deal with the negativity of people against my beliefs. Racing towards it, Holding perfectly still.
