| it's what most of the other people say; it's the feeling you usually have after a break-up. the song describes "one" trying to get over it, but it was a rather serious relationship, so it hurts, only feeling better after some deep though in front of a picture. i personally find this rather disturbing, but who's counting the disturbing mark? a little emo, IMHO. | |

| Quite possibly the most downcast song ever written. One interpretation is to say that a relationship scarred this person for the rest of his life. However, I believe in the other interpretation. To me, I think it is about how we try to live a life dedicated to God, but we keep falling away. Eventually, this leads some people who have a relationship with Christ to walk away from God, but they are haunted by fact that his mark is still in thier hearts. The "mantle" and "photograph" represent the faith in Jesus Christ that can be walked away from, but never forgotten. In other words, this song portrays faith turning into disease | |

| this song is basically the same as five year winter its just not expressing the harsh feelings over the breakup and hes saying he wont let go "and for a lifetime, i will dream of you..." "unable to be erased, unable to be forgotten.." and how sad he is about it. so basically its about loving someone when they dont love you back and the feeling you feel after a breakup. | |

| okay, here's what i think (this hasn't been brought up yet). I tried again, I fell again To find out for myself It hurts For a lifetime i think this talks about trying to find fulfillment and satisfaction and purpose in things apart from Christ. the rest of the song i think talks about when we do cling to Christ and put our hopes in him, we feel filled and healed "With your photograph to sooth the scars" thats what i say. | |
