Song - Remember me - The Zutons
Tabbed by Stuart McWilliam
Intro
C D C D
C D C D
Verse 1
G
Well we used to be the best of friends
Em
And we used to hang around
G
Now I always see you and your new girlfriend
Em
On the sunny side of town
G
Oh your body is the same and your face ain't changed
Em
But your mind ain't where that's at
G
You're too busy hugging and a-kissing now
Em
And for you that can't be bad
C D
But I've made a deal with the clouds
C D
Gonna turn that sun into rain
C D
So you forget about your love
C D
Come and see me again
Pre Chorus
C D
Oh remember me I'm your best friend
C D
And we don't talk no more
C D
So if you're in the neighbourhood
C D
Don't forget to knock on my door
Chorus
G
Cause I've got to keep the feeling, keep the feeling in
Em
Gotta keep the feeling, keep the feeling in
G
Gotta keep the feeling, keep the feeling in
Em
Gotta keep the feeling, keep the feeling in
Verse 2 (same as verse 1)
Now I stand upon your path
And I'm shouting up to you
Won't you come and give me a minute now
There's a message here for you
Me and a couple of old school friends
We're going out to drink
You can come along but leave your girl at home
It'll give you time to think
But you called at the last minute
Said that you were staying in
Well this is not a joke old friend
I'm a-getting sick of this
Pre Chorus
Oh remember me when she leaves you
And you come and knock on my door
Well I can nurse your broken heart
Cause that's what friends are for
Chorus
Cause I've got to keep the feeling, keep the feeling in
Gotta keep the feeling, keep the feeling in
Gotta keep the feeling, keep the feeling in
Gotta keep the feeling, keep the feeling in
Outro

| i love this song so much. Everyon can identify with the song, and the way they are mostly rather sad lyrics over a very "happy" song is very effective.... love the whole album, its brilliant and i'm suprised more people haven't picked up on it, not many people seem to have heard of them. | |

| Great song. I think everyone has either done this to their mates or had one of their mates do it. In some extremes you end up losing your friends completely, but is most instances your friends always come back to get their 'hearts nursed' by their pals. It's what being a real frined is all about. Even though you may have felt neglected you'll be there when they need you. | |

| This annoys me. He is obviously singing "on the SURLY side of town," not on the *sunny* side. Listen. There's an "R" in there. Same with "give you time to think": it's "GIFT" you time to think. I can understand when it's not so easy to hear, but he makes it so clear! URGH | |

| This song is about their tireless efforts to lock the Feeling in a cupboard, lest they should make any more dreadful music. | |
